I haven't bought new skincare in such a long time so the other day when I was strolling through Boots I decided to add a bunch of things to my basket. I've also used up quite a few products recently so I figured it was only right that I fill my empty cupboard space with more product - that's how it works, right? A couple things are repurchases but the rest are brand new so instead of rambling on, let's jump straight in!
skincare heavy boots haul blog post
Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge
I really needed a new sponge as I'd had mine for well over three months and it was starting to look a bit old and worn out. Sponges are my favorite tool for blending out foundation as they really push the product into the skin and give you a much more natural, polished finish. I know everyone seems to prefer the Beauty Blender but for me, nothing comes close to this little gem! It's a third of the price too!

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish
It was only a matter of time before another one of these landed in my basket. I don't know what it is about this cleanser but it just manages to fix any skincare issue I have from dryness and flakes to congestion and redness. I love the fact its a cream as it makes it perfect for both morning and evening and it never fails to give me beautifully soft, clean skin!

Wet Brush Pro | Marble
There's so much hype around these hairbrushes but I just got so used to my Tangle Teezer that I never bothered picking one up. They're currently on offer in Boots and when I saw that there was a new Marble print I just couldn't resist! The brush is designed to help minimize pain, split ends and breakage and also make it a lot easier to get out knots and tangles! I can't wait to try it!

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+ Cream SPF 30
I was so excited when I saw this on the shelf as I've been looking for a new everyday moisturiser with a decent level of SPF that I can just throw on when I'm running errands. I didn't get on very well with the original version but I loved the tinted formula so I think I'm really going to enjoy this! I tried a bit of the tester on my hand and the texture is still super light and hydrating but now it protects against UVA and UVB rays - yay!

Clinique Moisture Surge Facial Spray
The heat is back in the UK which means I'm getting through my facial mists like there's no tomorrow! I've really stripped back my makeup routine and have been keeping it super simple with just a bit of base, brows and tinted lip balm but there are a few points during the day where I feel like I'm melting and need a quick spritz. I had a sample of this and absolutely loved it so decided to just go ahead and buy the full size. It's super hydrating but it doesn't leave a greasy film on the skin which is my biggest pet peeve with facial sprays. It doesn't have much of a smell and it's great for giving the skin a bit of extra hydration throughout the day.

I must admit I'm not the fussiest person when it comes to using 'natural' beauty products but I definitely think there are benefits from incorporating gentler, high-quality natural ingredients into your routine and one brand that has completely won me over is Freshly Cosmetics. A Barcelona based brand that prides themselves on creating amazing cruelty-free products that are super effective and formulated without any toxic substances. I've been trying out a couple bits from them and it's safe to say that I'm obsessed!
freshly cosmetics review blog post
I was so excited when I pulled this out of the package as it's redness and stress-reducing properties are exactly what my skin needs right now. It's formulated with flavonoid-rich Lingonberry to stimulate cell repair, Vegan Hyaluronic Acid to increase hydration and elasticity and Astaxanthin, a powerful antioxidant that has 65x more activity against oxidation than Vitamin C! It's a lightweight moisturiser that leaves the skin feeling super hydrated and plump without being greasy or clogging. I'd say it's great for everyone but especially those with an oily/combination skin! I personally like to use this in the morning before makeup or when I'm at home and want something that's going to keep my skin constantly hydrated throughout the day. My skin has looked so much healthier recently and I definitely put it down to this! It also smells of cucumbers which I personally love!

I love clarifying shampoos but a lot of the time they can be really drying which isn't great if you have to wash your hair every two days like I do. This Grapefruit scented shampoo is Sulphate and Silicone-Free and leaves your hair feeling incredibly clean but not stripped. It's formulated with Aloe Vera to rejuvenate and unclog pores, Argan Oil to moisturise and soften and Natural Menthol to help calm and soothe the scalp. One of the main things I love about this shampoo is that even though it doesn't contain any Sulphates you still get a beautiful lather which is really important for me as that's what makes me feel like I'm really cleaning my hair. I like to follow up with a nice hydrating conditioner and then air dry as normal. My hair feels insanely soft after using this and it gives me so much volume that emphasizes my waves in all the right places! Obsessed!

There's been a lot of buzz surrounding Australian skincare recently so I was super excited when Alya Skin reached out to me and asked if I would like to try their extremely popular Pink Perfect Clay Mask* which is a godsend for anyone who struggles with large pores and congestion like me! I've been trying it out for a little while now and I thought it was time I tell you a bit more about it!
alya skin pink perfect clay mask review blog post
It retails at £30 for 120g which I think is pretty good value as a lot of face masks for this price usually contain just 30-50ml of product! It comes in this super cute plastic tub and is perfect for travel.

The mask is designed to brighten and purify the skin as well as tighten pores and reduce blemishes. It's great for all skin types including sensitive. The key ingredients include Kaolin Clay to remove toxins and pollutants, Aloe Vera & Pomegranate to calm inflammation and smooth the surface of the skin and also Witch Hazel to tone and speed up the healing time of breakouts. It's quite a thick mask but a little goes a really long way and it's very easy to spread on the skin which I love. I like to use it 2-3 times a week after cleansing to really deep clean my pores and reduce any redness I have going on. After about 10 minutes the mask dries down and feels quite tight so I like to emulsify it with a bit of warm water and then remove it with a flannel. My skin feels baby soft after using this and the overall appearance and tone is so much clearer and brighter and my pores look significantly smaller! It's definitely a great one to use before a night out/special occasion! What more could you ask for?

Over the past few months, I've started to notice just how dehydrated my skin actually is. It's so frustrating as I try my best to drinks lots of water and have a solid skincare routine but like most people, my skin is still thirsty for water. I've even noticed a few fine lines recently pop up on my forehead which I'm hoping is just from my lack of hydration and nothing more! With the weather changing its mind every two minutes it can be hard to find the right balance between hydrating and greasy so today I'm talking you through four products that deliver hydration and are virtually undetectable on the skin!
four picks for dehydrated skin blog post
Murad Resurgence Hydrating Toner
I picked this up about a month ago after seeing Caroline rave about it and I'm happy to report that it lives up to the hype! I love a good facial mist especially in the warmer months as they're great for adding hydration and refreshing the skin throughout the day. This one smells of peach which I personally love and it leaves my skin feeling beautifully soft and balanced. It's formulated with Cucumber and Witch Hazel to soothe and tone and is great to use before applying your serums and moisturisers to help kick-start the layering process! I'll definitely be purchasing a back-up!

Pixi Nourishing Sleep Mask
This is one of my favourite night-time treatments as it's super nourishing and hydrating but doesn't leave a greasy finish like a lot of overnight masks do. It feels more like a rich moisturiser but is still light enough for those with an oily/combination skin. It's packed full of Jojoba Seed Oil, Arginine and Hyaluronic Acid and the next morning my skin feels really smooth and plump and my makeup goes on flawlessly! Love!

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream
I know I always go on about this product but I had to include it as I think it's the perfect all-around moisturiser for anyone with dry/dehydrated skin. It's light enough to use under makeup but rich enough to use as a night cream. It's also one of my favourite products for priming my skin for foundation as it gives me a beautifully smooth canvas! Read my full review here!

The Ordinary 100% Plant-Derived Squalane*
This is definitely a heavier texture than the other products but still feels lightweight and is easily absorbed. Squalane is found naturally in the skin and is an amazing emollient making it perfect for smoothing and hydrating the surface of the skin. This product is great you need something to relieve dry/tight skin and want an extra layer of moisture on the skin. It's super affordable too!

I like to put a lot of thought and care into gifts but when it's something as personal as fragrance it can be quite a tricky task as everyone has their likes and dislikes. My dad has always been obsessed with fragrance and smelling good (probably even more so than me!) so I'm pretty used to gifting 'smellies' as he would call them, but I still think guys are harder to buy for than girls. I'm not worried though as Michael Bublé has just released his first ever male fragrance which has made finding the perfect Father's Day gift a whole lot easier!
michael buble pour homme fragrance review blog post
Michael Bublé Pour Homme* is the new signature scent designed for the modern man. It's a masculine fragrance perfect for men of all ages and retails at £39 for 70ml and £55 for 120ml. It has spicy top notes of Pink Pepper and Ginger along with Grapefruit and Bergamot to keep it citrusy and fresh. The heart notes include Neroli, Geranium and there's also base notes of Patchouli, Sandalwood and Musk for a beautiful woody finish!

One thing, in particular, I love about this fragrance is the beautifully sleek bottle. I just think it looks so expensive on my vanity or standing tall in our bathroom cabinet. It is very heavy though as it's made of glass so just bear that in mind when travelling! The gorgeous ombre design is very eye catching and I think a lot of men would enjoy having something really luxe and sophisticated like this in their collection! The packaging was actually inspired by the old school microphones which I think is a really cute touch! Hubby's actually stolen this and although he isn't a dad, he absolutely loves this aftershave and has been wearing it ever since it arrived! As I said before this is definitely something that I can see a lot of younger guys wearing as well as men reaching their 40s/50s and over! We've also both noticed that it's quite a concentrated scent so you only need 2-3 spritzes as it has great staying power and wears off beautifully! I seriously can't recommend it enough!

The fragrance is now available from - https://shopuk.michaelbubleperfume.com/ and you have until 3.30pm on the 14th June to place your order for guaranteed delivery in time for Father's Day!

And we're back! I'm so sorry for not posting in over a week! I'm sure you've all heard about my little accident so I'm not going to bore you with all that but I want to quickly say a massive thank you for all of your sweet messages and well wishes! Today I thought I would talk you through the products I've recently been enjoying including my new go-to eyeshadow palette and the fruity fragrance I can't stop wearing!
may favourites 2018 blog post
L'Oreal Paris Paradise Extatic Mascara
If there's one thing L'Oreal do well, it's mascaras. I tend to use this more as a daytime mascara as it gives me beautiful thick lashes without being clumpy. It has a natural bristle brush and I love that it holds a curl as my lashes tend to drop halfway through the day but this keeps them nice and fluttery!

Zoeva Cocoa Blend Eyeshadow Palette
I had a rummage through all of my eyeshadow palettes last month and rediscovered this little gem. It's no secret that I love a warm smokey eye and this palette is perfect for that! I start by applying Substitute For Love in the crease and on the lid and then I add a bit of Freshly Toasted to the outer corner and lower lashline for a bit more definition. Easy peasy!

Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Gel
I often forget about this cleanser but it's actually one of my favourites and I've been loving it as the days are getting warmer. It's formulated with Marula Oil and has a beautiful light texture that emulsifies into a milk which leaves my skin feeling beautifully clean and soft. It smells amazing too!

Soap & Glory One Heck Of A Blot Powder
My base hasn't been as long-wearing as I'd like recently so I've switched back to this powder which is great for setting the face and taking down shine without making you look flat or cakey. It's also translucent so it doesn't add extra coverage which I prefer!

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
For a while, I wasn't sure whether this serum was making a difference in my skin but I've actually noticed that it feels a lot less hydrated and plump when I don't use this! I like to apply it just before my moisturiser and it gives me a much smoother, softer base for makeup! Love!

Indeed Laboratories Eyesilix II*
I absolutely adore this eye cream! It hydrates, soothes and helps my foundation and concealer go on flawlessly! My eyes are very puffy when I wake up but this has really been helping! I've had it for a good few months now and it's still going strong! I can't recommend it enough!

Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy
It's really weird how my perfume taste has changed over the years but I think I've reached a point where I'd rather have a handful of fragrances that I truly love rather than a million bottles of things I don't actually like or use. This for me is the perfect Summer scent. It's a bit fruity, a bit sweet and always puts me in a happy mood! I'm also obsessed with the bottle - I mean, just look at it!
