Cleansing is one of my favourite parts of my skincare routine along with facial steaming and triple masking. I personally find it super relaxing and I love having those ten minutes all to my self to just de-stress and wash away all of the grime from the day. As the weather has started to warm up I've really been enjoying opting for a simpler cleansing routine that features just three or four cleansers that I keep on rotation and use on and off throughout the week depending on how my skin is feeling.
four cleansers i'm currently loving blog post
Now that the weather is finally hotting up I've been loving using this cleanser two-three times a week to gently exfoliate and keep my skin clear. It contains a mix of Salicylic, Lactic and Glycolic Acid and has a beautiful light texture with a slight grit that isn't harsh or abrasive in the slightest. It's super gentle and leaves my skin beautifully soft and smooth. Full review coming soon!

Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser
I know you're all probably sick of hearing me talk about this cleanser but I had to mention it as I'm yet to find anything that I enjoy using more than this. Although it does remove makeup I prefer to keep this for 'skin cleansing' as it has the most beautiful balm-gel consistency which feels like heaven when you massage it into the skin. This is a great all-around cleanser that's suitable for all skin types. It has a gentle rose scent and the fact that it emulsifies means it's perfect for a quick morning cleanse.

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil*
When I first discovered cleansing balms my love for oils quickly faded and I found myself using them less and less. Then I kindly got sent this beaut from DHC and everything changed. I'm still not the biggest cleansing oil fan but when I want something silky and rich to destroy my makeup, this is what I reach for. The Olive Oil base removes every trace of makeup and dirt without clogging pores or leaving a greasy residue. Love!

Pixi Double Cleanse
Another favourite is this Pixi X Caroline Hirons collab which is one of the best and most universal cleansers on the market. It has two sections; a solid oil (basically a balm) and a cream. The idea is that you use the solid oil first to remove makeup and SPF and then follow up with the cream to give your skin a proper cleanse. It's fragrance-free and leaves the skin incredibly soft and hydrated. It's a must-have for Spring and Summer!

I'm terrible when it comes to finishing products, especially in a short amount of time. Of course, things like shampoos and shower gels are an exception as I use them every day but makeup and skincare always takes a lot longer to make its way into my empties bag. I've been hoarding these products for a good couple of months and I think it's finally time I showed you what I've used up!

Makeup

L'Oreal Paris Miss Baby Roll Mascara
I wasn't blessed with long fluttery eyelashes so I love using this mascara as it's one of the only ones I've found to give serious volume and thickness without being clumpy!

Primark PS Primer Water
I've already got five backups of this so it's pretty clear how much I love it. This is a lovely hydrating primer that softens the skin and helps foundation and concealer go on like a dream. It's also great if you're looking a bit powdery and you need something to help mesh everything together.

Eyeko Brow Gel
I got this sample in a magazine ages ago (longer than I care to admit) and I've pretty much destroyed it. There's just something about this brow gel that looks super natural and helps keep every hair in place without being stiff or crunchy. I will definitely be purchasing a full size!

Skincare

Origins Ginzing Energy Boosting Moisturiser
This is one of the only moisturisers I loved so much that I had to repurchase it. It's such a lovely gel formula that feels incredibly hydrating and soothing on the skin. The Ginseng and Coffee Bean give a gorgeous glow that really perks up the face, especially in the morning! Makeup applies beautifully over the top and the citrusy smell always puts me in a good mood.

Pixi Beauty Sleep Cream
This is another product that I loved and used until the very end. It's a rich night cream that leaves the skin beautifully soft and plump without being greasy or clogging pores. A little goes a long way and the Lavender fragrance always makes me feel nice and relaxed.

Yes To Coconuts Cream Cleanser
I really enjoyed this cleanser and I would definitely repurchase it in the future. It's perfect if you want something light and gentle that can be used both AM and PM. It leaves the skin beautifully clean but not dry or stripped.

The Body Shop Vitamin C Face Spritz
I loved using this last year during the hotter months. It's super refreshing and leaves a lovely layer of hydration and glow on the skin. It smells amazing too!

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
I actually really enjoyed this serum and I will definitely be repurchasing it. The main reason I liked it was because it's a very thin formula that doesn't feel really thick or gloopy. I also noticed a big improvement in the overall texture of my skin when I used this so it's a big thumbs up from me!

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion
Although this is pricey for the amount of product you get, it actually lasted me a really long time. It's a spot treatment formulated with Salicylic Acid and Calamine which work to reduce the size and inflammation of blemishes overnight. I'll definitely be picking up a new one next time I visit an Urban Outfitters

Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist
I really need to get another bottle of this stuff. It's probably my favourite mist for layering moisture between products. I definitely prefer it to the Glow Mist!

Hair

Herbal Essences Daily Detox Green Herbs & Mint Shampoo*
You all know how much I love Herbal shampoos. They're the best ones I've found for cleaning my hair thoroughly without leaving it feeling stripped or weighed down. This is one of my favourite scents I've tried so far as the mint is really uplifting and refreshing.

Garnier Ultimate Blends Maple Healer Conditioner
I can't explain how good this product smells. If you love warm, sweet scents then you've got to check out this range! It's a really rich and buttery conditioner but it still washes out properly which is a must for me! My hair always feels so soft and shiny after using this and it's definitely helped keep my hair healthy during the Winter months.

Grow Gorgeous Full Bodied Volumising Shampoo*
I'm slightly obsessed with this brand. Literally, everything I've tried from them I've loved, especially this shampoo! It does a great job of creating a lot of air between the hair strands making it feel a lot more lifted and voluminous without weighing it down. It's super luxurious and it smells ah-mazing

Lee Stafford Coco Loco Coconut Heat Protection Mist
I really enjoyed using this mist. It smells delicious (obvs) and it conditions and protects the hair without making it greasy or sticky.

Body

Soap & Glory Shower Gel | Clean On Me & Sugar Crush
When it comes to shower-time, you can't go wrong with a bit of S&P. The Clean On Me scent will always be my favourite but I love switching to Sugar Crush in the Summer for a nice zingy twist.

Superdrug Mix & Fizz Bath & Shower Gel | Pink Fizz
I think I've found my new favourite shower gel. I cannot explain how good this stuff smells. It's like showering in a bottle of pink bubbly! It lathers up beautifully and it leaves me feeling super clean and soft. I'm definitely going back for the other scents!

Dolly Mixtures Chocolate Orange Shower Gel
When Poofie says you need to go and buy a product, I don't question it, I just do it. This stuff is like chocolate orange on steroids. It's only £1 from Poundland and it leaves me feeling really clean and smelling delicious. I already have two back-ups!

Blusher is usually one of those products that you either love and wouldn't be seen dead without or something you loathe and would rather swap for a dusting of bronzer. Personally, I sit somewhere in the middle and depending on my mood (and skin) I'll either go for something bright and colourful or barely there. I'm especially into blushers that don't require much skill to apply and look virtually undetectable on the skin. Here are my top blusher picks for all my fellow lazy gals out there!
the lazy girl's guide to blush blog post
Glossier Cloud Paints
I definitely think that cream blush is the way forward. Especially for us lazy peeps. It's just a lot more natural looking and only takes seconds to apply whereas powders can be a bit more high maintenance. I love the Glossier Cloud Paints because they're basically fool-proof and give you a gorgeous pop of colour that can be built up or toned down. Dusk is great if you want a natural, 'your cheeks but better' sort of shade and Puff is perfect if you're more of a baby pink lover.

Clinique Cheek Pops
This is probably the best powder blush formula I've come across. They're just such a breeze to apply and I love that you can start off really sheer and then apply more if you feel you need it. They give a beautiful sheen to the cheeks and with six shades (my favourite is Ginger Pop) to choose from, there's a cheek pop for everyone. They also have my favourite packaging. I mean, just look at that flower print!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush
If you're looking for a natural blush with a hint of shimmer then I highly recommend giving the Ambient Lighting range a swatch next time you're at an Hourglass counter. There's something about their blushers that just looks so pretty and ethereal on the skin. A little goes a really long way and they blend out seamlessly!

Marc Jacobs Air Blush | Kink & Kisses
Being someone who has a lot of redness in their skin (especially in the cheek area), I tend to avoid brighter colours as they tend to exaggerate it but this shade is an exception. It's very pigmented so you don't need much and it's perfect if you want something luminous without any shimmer or glitter.

I can't even begin to explain how excited I am for Spring! It felt like Winter was never going to end but the weather is finally starting to warm up and I can now go to bed without a million throws and a hot water bottle! Yay! Spring is such a fun time for beauty as it's when a lot of brands start to release lots of new products and limited editions. It's also when we start to embrace brighter colours and experiment a bit more. I've slowly been rounding up my favourite beauty products for Spring and today I thought I would share them with you.
Dior Addict Lip Glow | 001
I'm obsessed with pinky-nudes all year round but especially in the Springtime - they're just super flattering and seem to go with everything! I'm particularly obsessed with this tinted lip balm for Dior as it gives me a sheer wash of colour and feels super hydrating. It smells amazing too!

Pixi Rose Tonic
I was really intrigued when this first came out as I'm already a big fan of their Glow Tonic and I'm always on the lookout for new hydrating toners to add to my collection. I've been using this sort of like an essence by applying it after a face mist and before my serums and it leaves the skin feeling beautifully soft and hydrated. It's also great for soothing irritation and calming redness. It's definitely one to consider adding to your Spring skincare routine!

Glossier Boy Brow | Brown
Recently my brows have been pretty much exactly how I want them so I've just been using tinted brow gel here and there to add a bit of shape and definition. I love this one because it's not really wet or gloopy like some brow gels and it adds the illusion of more hair instead of looking hard or crispy. It's a must for everyone!

Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia Cologne
This scent will always remind me of the time leading up to my wedding. It's such a beautiful fresh yet fruity fragrance that almost smells like a bottle of bubbly (in a good way!). I love whipping this out in the Springtime because it's such an easy scent to wear and it lasts really well so I don't have to keep re-applying throughout the day.

Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look In A Palette | Natural Beauty
I love embracing a more minimal makeup routine in Spring and this palette has everything I need to create a soft, glowy look. I also love how convenient it is for travel as I'm someone who really struggles to streamline their makeup bag but this makes it super easy!

The Ordinary Serum Foundation
I rediscovered this foundation last week and I've been loving it on days when I want a slightly heavier coverage that still looks fresh and radiant. I also love how quick it is to apply with a damp sponge. It literally takes me about thirty seconds and my foundation is perfectly blended! Can't recommend this enough!

Glossier Priming Moisturiser
I've come to a point where I can't do my makeup without applying some sort of primer but there are times when I don't want to use my super glowy picks and instead I just apply a thick layer of this moisturiser. It's one of my favourite pre-foundation bases because it's super hydrating but not greasy and it also helps smooth over any dry patches so they don't show through my foundation. Love it!

Us Brits are obsessed with French women. We can't help but envy their uber-chic style and flawless lit from within skin. When it comes to beauty those girls have it down but one thing, in particular, they all seem to have is a shared love for French pharmacy skincare. I decided to pick up a couple of bits from Boots and I can't believe what a difference they've made! It's like I've got new skin!

La Roche-Posay Makeup Remover Milk
Recently I've been super lazy with my cleansing and have been searching for something simple that I can use both AM and PM. Not only does this do an amazing job of removing every trace of makeup and thoroughly cleaning your skin but it's also managed to get rid of all of the under the skin bumps that were on my forehead. I'm still not sure if they were acne or a type of skin rash but they were extremely annoying and looked even worse when I wore foundation. I only had to use this once and they literally disappeared! It's a lovely light cleansing milk that spreads really well,  doesn't leave the skin feeling stripped and is super easy to remove. I'm absolutely obsessed with this cleanser and I highly recommend it to anyone with aggravated/sensitive skin!

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra Fluide
I've heard so many bloggers deem this as the perfect everyday moisturiser and seen as La Roche Posay were running a buy one get one half price offer, I figured now was the perfect time to try it. I started using it alongside the cleanser and long story short this is a beautiful fluid moisturiser that leaves the skin feeling soft and hydrated but not greasy. I find I don't need to use a lot of my serum with this as it's super hydrating and makes a lovely base for makeup. I'm also really enjoying the packaging. The only con is that it costs £17.50 for 40ml which I think is pretty expensive for the amount of product you get. Apart from that, I love everything about this moisturiser and after using it in combination with the cleanser, my skin has honestly never looked better!

And just like that, it's time for another monthly favourites post! I'm sorry it's a bit later than usual - I've had quite a few personal issues pop up over the past few weeks and it threw everything off but I'm not going to bore you with all that! I went a little crazy throughout March and purchased quite a few beauty items which I've really been loving! I've also been embracing a lighter, fresher makeup and a more basic skincare routine and I'm super happy with how they've been working.
march favourites 2018 blog post
Glossier You
I don't think I've worn another perfume since buying this. It's quite a hard scent to describe but it's definitely one to try if you prefer softer fragrances. It has a warm, clean finish and I find it lasts really well on clothes. I've already used more than half so I need to purchase a back-up asap!

Lee Stafford Choco Locks Butter Cream Treatment*
I'm trying to get my hair as healthy as possible so I've been using hair masks at least 3 times a week and this one is definitely my favourite. Firstly it smells incredible, it's really chocolatey but not sickly or fake and it has a gorgeous whipped, buttery texture that leaves the hair feeling beautifully soft and hydrated but not greasy or weighed down. It's also really easy to wash out and I can even apply it to my roots without it leaving a residue!

OUAI Texturising Hairspray*
When it comes to my hair I'm pretty laid back but every now and then when I've made a bit more effort I like to use this hairspray to keep everything in place and add some texture. It smells amazing too!

Becca Backlight Priming Filter
I really wasn't expecting to love this primer as much as I do but now it's the only one I reach for! I like to mix it in with my foundation or apply it alone to give my skin a gorgeous healthy glow. I can't recommend it enough!

Lush Honey Lip Scrub
My lips have been super dry recently so I started using this a couple times a week and I can't believe what a difference it's made! The particles are the perfect size to buff away dry skin without being harsh or abrasive.

Glossier Stretch Concealer
I started using this a lot last month as my skin has been in pretty good condition and I haven't needed to layer on the cake as much. It has a gorgeous creamy texture that melts into the skin and is perfect covering redness and blemishes without looking heavy on the skin.

March Favourites

And just like that, it's time for another monthly favourites post! I'm sorry it's a bit later than usual - I've had quite a few personal issues pop up over the past few weeks and it threw everything off but I'm not going to bore you with all that! I went a little crazy throughout March and purchased quite a few beauty items which I've really been loving! I've also been embracing a lighter, fresher makeup and a more basic skincare routine and I'm super happy with how they've been working.
