Food isn't something I usually talk about on my blog but when something as good as this lands on your doorstep, it would be a crime not to mention it. For those who don't know, I have a massive sweet tooth and even when I was a kid I would spend any spare money I had on a bag of pick 'n' mix consisting of cherry lips, chocolate peanuts and fizzy cola bottles. A strange mix, I know. Nowadays I try not to eat a lot of sugary food but every now and then I just crave something sweet. Gookie Dough is a delicious edible treat created by Anja and Olly from Nottingham and was inspired by their shared love for Willy Wonka and baking. I've only had my samples for about a week and I'm already obsessed!
Gooey Chocolate Chip* | £7.50 for 2
Out of all of the flavours in the range, this is the one I was most excited to try. It has a rich vanilla base with dark chocolate chunks instead of milk chocolate which I think is genius as it gives it a lovely edge and stops it being overly sweet. The texture of all the cookie dough is so soft and gooey, it literally melts in your mouth. They're all egg-free making them completely safe to eat raw and this flavour, in particular, is currently their only vegan option.

Funfetti Cake Batter* | £7.50 for 2
Inspired by the extremely popular American childhood birthday cake flavour, this combines a rich vanilla base with gorgeous chunks of white chocolate and is topped off with lots of little rainbow sugar sprinkles. My inner child practically screamed when I opened this one! I'm not usually a big fan of white chocolate as it can be a bit too sweet but this is just right and it's definitely one to try if you enjoy eating raw cake batter like I do!

Red Velvet* | £7.50 for 2
I haven't had much experience with red velvet desserts but boy does this taste good! With a red cocoa base and swirls of rich vanilla frosting, this is probably the most decadent one in the range! It's not something I can eat too much of as it is very sweet but I love how they've managed to make this flavour work!

Triple Chocolate Fudge* | £7.50 for 2
I'm a sucker for anything triple chocolate and this really hits the spot when I need a quick sugar fix. Using dark cocoa cookie dough, milk chocolate fudge and white chocolate chunks, this a chocoholic's dream! I store all of my pots in the fridge and bring them to room temperature when I want to devour eat them.

To all my fellow cookie dough lovers out there, do yourself a favour and give these a go!

I don't normally have to worry about my skin as most of the time it's quite well behaved but recently I just don't know what to do with it. One day it's breaking out and the next it's super dry and sensitive. Admittedly I haven't been drinking enough water and that paired with my time of the month is just asking for trouble. I've been trying my best to get my skin back to normal and I thought I would show you some of my current top picks.
My skin's quite sensitive at the moment so I've been using the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser because it's gentle, quick to use and leaves my skin feeling clean but not stripped. I also really like the subtle rose scent. For makeup removal, I've been loving the Simple Micellar Water because it's just so quick and easy.

To keep the irritation down I've been skipping acids and going straight in with my hydrating toners and mists. Congestion and blemishes have been a big problem for me over the past few weeks but the Hylamide Pore Flush* has really helped keep them to a minimum. I spritz it onto a cotton pad and sweep it over my skin after cleansing. It's great for keeping shine down too!

Whenever I'm having issues with my skin I like to keep my routine really simple and use treatments 2-3 times a week. The Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask has been my go-to for exfoliating and getting rid of dead skin and I've also started using The Ordinary Advanced Retinoid 2% again as I feel like my skin always looks better when I use it.

As I mentioned before, I've been seriously lacking in the hydration department and my skin is definitely paying for it. I've only been using the Indeed Laboratories Hydration Booster* for a couple of weeks but I've already noticed a difference. It has a gorgeous milky texture that absorbs really well and my skin feels a lot smoother and more hydrated afterwards. To moisturise I've been using the Glossier Priming Moisturiser in the day which is really light but super hydrating and The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rosehip Seed Oil at night to nourish and protect.

DHC has quickly become one of my favourite beauty brands and one of the main reasons I love them is because they seem to have a product for just about everything! Last month I was lucky enough to be invited along to the launch of two of their new skincare products and today I thought I would share them with you.
Astaxanthin Collagen All-In-One Gel* | £34
I don't have any collagen products in my collection so I'm really looking forward to trying this. It's formulated with Astaxanthin, a powerful antioxidant derived from Green Algae which is considered to be 6000 times more effective at protecting against free radicals than Vitamin C. I've tried it on the back of my hand and it has a lovely gel texture that absorbs quickly and leaves the skin feeling soft and hydrated.

Beauty Lift Eye Care Essence Roll-On* | £20
When I was younger eye roll-ons were all the rage but they're not something I've ever actually tried. This one uses Oat Kernel Extract which is known for it's anti-inflammatory and soothing properties and it also has ceramides and pentapeptides to help lift and hydrate the eye area. The massaging beads are brilliant for cooling and reducing puffiness and it's a lifesaver in the mornings when my eyes feel tired and sore.

Lip Cream* | £8.75
This isn't a particularly new product but I thought I would mention it anyway. Lip Cream is a conditioning lip balm formulated with Vitamin E to nourish and Aloe and Olive Oil to soothe and neutralise free radicals. It has a thick waxy texture so it lasts a long time and there's no scent or tint which means anyone can use it.

I can't believe Christmas is only 36 days away! Madness! I've been planning my gift guides for quite a while and I'm so excited to finally be able to share all of these amazing goodies with you! I've included a mix of everything from skincare sets to bath bombs and whether you're buying for your mom, bestie or even yourself, hopefully, there's something here to suit everyone!
Skincare is one of my favourite things to receive for Christmas and the Glossier Phase 1 Set is a great choice for any beauty lover. It contains the Milky Jelly Cleanser, Priming Moisturiser and a Balm Dot Com of your choice. You save £8 by buying the set and they also come in a cute pink pouch which doubles as a travel bag. Pixi has some amazing sets this year but I personally think you can't go wrong with their Double Cleanse. Half balm, half cream, it removes all traces of makeup and leaves the skin incredibly soft and nourished. It's a must-have for all makeup wearers!

Coffee scrubs have been insanely popular this year and I think the Grounded Sweet Orange Face Scrub* would make a great stocking filler. It helps exfoliate, add radiance and the gorgeous orange scent just feels so appropriate for this time of year. I also think the Olay Total Effects Moisturiser SPF 15* is something any skincare obsessive would enjoy! It's one of my mom's favourites!

Charlotte Tilbury is always a good place to start when looking for makeup gifts and her Instant Look In A Palette is definitely one of my favourite picks. It has everything from eyeshadows to bronzer and the super-luxe packaging is enough to make any girl happy! Another great choice for makeup lovers is highlighter. The Makeup Revolution Liquid Highlighter in Starlight is super affordable and would make a great little side gift!

I find makeup brushes just as exciting as the actual makeup and this year I've found two that would make lovely gifts. The first is the Pixi Strobe & Sculpt Brush* which is perfect for anyone who loves to chisel their cheekbones. The other is this adorable Real Techniques Mini Contour Brush. It's great for any girl on the go and you can even hang it on your Christmas tree like an ornament. How cute!

My last makeup gift is this gorgeous KIKO Arctic Holiday Lip Kit in Marsala. You get a creamy lipstick and matching lip liner both in a beautiful deep berry shade. The packaging in this range is so stunning, I want one for myself!

Everyone likes to treat themselves at Christmas and body/fragrance gifts are a great way to help someone relax and indulge. Sanctuary Spa is one of my favourite body care brands and their Body Lotion, in particular, is always a lovely thing to receive. I find their signature scent so comforting around this time of year.

Soap & Glory always do amazing gift sets for Christmas and this year I decided to get their Pink Me Up Set which has a mini Clean On Me Shower Gel and Original Pink Body Spray. Fragrance can be tricky as everyone has their own personal taste but I think the new Glossier You perfume will be a hit with pretty much anybody! It's quite girly and sweet but it's not overpowering in the slightest!

Over the past four or five months, my taste in makeup has changed quite a lot and I've started to adopt a really easy, minimal look that only takes me around 15 minutes to do. I've recently added a few new products to my routine and today I thought I would share them with you.
Before I apply my foundation I like to use a small amount of the DHC Velvet Skin Coat on the areas where I have large pores and congestion as it helps smooth everything out and give a nice even base. Then I go in with the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream which has a good amount of coverage and a beautiful natural finish. For my dark circles and redness, I've recently started using the Glossier Stretch Concealer and so far I'm really liking it. It has a creamy consistency but doesn't move or look cakey which I love. Cream blushers are such a good way to add colour to the face and the Glossier Cloud Paint in Dusk is my new go-to. To finish off my base I have to add a touch of highlighter and the Glossier Haloscope in Quartz is literally dewy, healthy skin in a tube. I just apply it with my fingertips and it gives me the J-Lo glow in seconds!

I'm not really a big eyeshadow fan but I do like to add a wash of colour just so that my eyes don't look bare compared to the rest of my face. MAC Soba is such a pretty muted brown and I think it looks so understated and chic swept all over the lid. Then I apply a few coats of the Estee Lauder Sumptuous Knockout Defining Lift and Fan Mascara to help perk up my almost non-existent lashes. I'm really happy with my brows at the moment so I've been skipping my pencils and pomades and been opting for the Eyeko Brow Gel instead.

My usual lip products have been feeling a little overkill lately but I find that the Glossier Generation G in Cake is the perfect balance between a tinted balm and a full-on lipstick. It has a matte finish but isn't drying and the slight peachy tint is so natural and easy to wear, I can apply it without a mirror! I really need to pick up some of the other shades!

As much as I love going out on the weekends cosy nights in are my thing and when it comes to taking time out for a pamper sesh, I like to think I've created the ultimate routine. Autumn is such a good time to indulge and treat yourself and today I thought I would share some of my favourite things to do when I want to look and feel brand new.
I like to start every pamper session with a nice relaxing shower. It's not the most exciting step but it is important. If you have a bathtub then this is the time to get all those bath salts and muscle soaks out and really go to town. Once I'm out the shower I get straight into my warm PJs and then I pick my scent for the night. Fragrance is really important to me and it makes such a difference to my mood. I've recently been wearing two of the new Addictive Arts Perfumes* by Clive Christian and I'm obsessed with them. They scream luxury and because the scents are so concentrated, you only need one or two spritzes to feel super glam and sophisticated.

Then I move onto skincare and this is when I like to address all of the skin issues I'm currently having. At the moment I'm struggling with large pores and dullness so I've been using my trusty Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask at least once a week. It gets rid of all the dry skin and texture that shows through foundation and leaves my skin feeling smooth and looking radiant. My hands have been really dry recently but the Hand Chemistry Pro Repair Skincare For Hands has been working wonders. I also use my Twin Ball Facial Massager from The Body Shop to help drain lymph and get rid of any puffiness.

One of my favourite things about a Sunday pamper is being able to spend the whole evening doing something I love which is usually bingeing on Netflix or reading a book. I'm currently re-reading Sali Hughes Pretty Honest and I forgot how much I enjoyed it. I also like to make myself the ultimate hot chocolate complete with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, and marshmallows. After that, I'm ready for bed and no pamper session would be complete without a super cute eye mask. I got mine free with a L'Oreal purchase and I always feel extra chic and cosy when I use it.

What's your favourite way to pamper yourself?

It's the beginning of November which means it's time for me to talk about all of the products I was loving last month. Normally I only feature beauty but today I thought I'd throw some other things into the mix including my new favourite book and the slogan tee I can't stop wearing!
Micellar water has made a come back in my skincare routine and the Simple one is still my absolute favourite. It removes every trace of makeup and never leaves my skin feeling dry or irritated which a lot of other ones do. I have the 400ml size which is currently on offer in Superdrug for just £3! Bargain!

I was so excited when this came in the post as I'm a massive fan of anything formulated with Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide. I've been using it as my serum every other day and I'm so impressed with the difference it's made to my skin. It feels so much more hydrated and plump and the texture has improved too! Review coming soon!

New Look Stripe Heartbreaker Slogan T-Shirt | £9.99
I'm obsessed with slogan t-shirts and I've been loving this one in particular because it's just so easy to wear.
This was one of the main products I wanted to try from Glossier and since I got it I haven't been able to stop using it. It's my new handbag essential!
Anna mentioned this book on her blog a little while ago and I knew it was something I had to pick up. It's full of lots of helpful tips and advice on how to stay inspired and motivated and how to build a successful, self-made career. It really helped give me the kick up the bum I needed!
I wore this foundation so much throughout October, I don't think I used anything else! The coverage is quite full on but it still has a natural, glowy finish to it which I love. I like to apply it with a damp sponge and it gives me a flawless base every time.

I've had my eye on Glossier ever since I first heard Anna raving about them back at the beginning of the year. Their minimal packaging and no makeup - makeup vibe instantly drew me in. As most of you will probably know Glossier has finally launched in the UK and what's even more exciting is that because the products are coming from a UK-based warehouse, you don't have to pay any taxes or customs charges! How awesome is that? Over the past few weeks I've made three fairly big orders and now that I have them all with me, I thought it was about time I show you what I got.
For my first order, I felt it was only right I start with the Phase 1 and Phase 2 sets which are kind of like their starter packs. Each set contains 3 best-selling products and it works out quite a bit cheaper than if you were to buy them individually. You also get to pick the shades you want which is amazing!

Phase 1 is the skincare set and in it, you get the Milky Jelly Cleanser, Priming Moisturiser and a Balm Dot Com of your choice. I really like this set and I think it's a great way to try some of their products if you're not really sure where to start. I've been trying the cleanser on and off since I got it and so far I'm really enjoying it. It's a great everyday cleanser that leaves the skin feeling clean but not stripped. I haven't tried the moisturiser yet but I've heard so many people say it's a fab base for makeup. I was so eager to try the Balm Dot Com in Birthday Cake and it certainly didn't disappoint. It's a multi-use balm that helps to soften and nourish dry areas but I use it on my lips and I love it!

The Phase 2 set contains three of their best selling makeup items and although I'm usually more excited about skincare, I was so happy to finally get my hands on these products. You all know I love a good brow gel and Boy Brow is one of the most popular ones around. I got the shade brown and I can't wait to start using it. Then there's the Stretch Concealer which is designed to give you coverage without the cakey finish. I went for the shade Light which looks like a really good match. The last product in the set is the Generation G in Cake which is their take on the modern day lip. It's sheerer than a normal lipstick and is supposed to give you that just blotted, your lips but better look.

A few days after they launched I placed my second order and I ended up getting a bunch more makeup. Haloscope is their cream highlighter and it's probably the prettiest one I've ever owned. I went for Quarts which is a really nice pearlescent shade. It looks so glowy and radiant on the skin and it's perfect if you love the dewy look. Everyone was going mad for the Cloud Paints so I decided to get Dusk and Puff which are both really pretty and wearable. I also picked up another Boy Brow in Clear and a Balm Dot Com in Coconut. You can never have too many backups!

The last thing I ordered was their brand new fragrance, You. I received a couple of samples with my first two orders and I instantly fell in love with it. Part of me was expecting it to be really strong and musky but actually, it's quite subtle. I won't go on about it too much as I'm planning on doing a separate post about it because I love it that much!

The Glossier Haul

When Hubby and I were younger we used to love going on date nights but nowadays we only tend to do them once or twice a month. Who needs to go out when you stay home with Dominos and Netflix? Date nights are when I like to really make an effort with my makeup and I love having the extra time to actually sit down and apply itI have a signature look that I always do for a night out and today I thought I would share it with you!
I love using my Primark Primer Water for a date night because it's really hydrating and it helps my makeup last all day. I like my base to look flawless but natural and the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation is perfect for this. For blemishes and dark circles I've been loving the Seventeen Stay Time Concealer because it covers everything without being cakey or heavy on the skin. Then I set my face with powder and move onto the cheeks. The Clinique Cheek Pop in Ginger Pop is usually my blusher of choice as it gives me a gorgeous natural flush without being over the top. Of course, my look wouldn't be complete without a shed load of highlighter and I've recently re-discovered my Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder which I'm obsessed with!

The Zoeva Cocoa Blend Eyeshadow Palette is perfect for creating a warm-toned smokey eye and it's what I use 99% of the time. I'll mix Substitute For Love and Freshly Toasted in the crease and on my lower lashline to add some warmth and definition and then I apply Subtle Blend to the lid for a nice pop. I also like to put some L'Oreal Infallible Gel Crayon in Black on my waterline for some extra drama. Then it's just a few coats of mascara, a bit of brow pomade and I'm done!

I prefer using matte lipstick on a date night as it means I don't have to keep touching up every 5 minutes. First I use my MAC Lip Pencil in Boldly Bare to add some shape and then I apply the Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipstick in Velvet Beige over top. It's such a good combo!

If you're a regular reader/viewer of The Anna Edit then you'll know all about capsule wardrobes. I was completely new to the concept but after watching a few of her videos I really started to get into the idea of creating one. As I've mentioned before, I'm not really into fashion. I have my own style and way I like to dress but when it comes to putting outfits together and trying new things, I'm about as experimental as a paper clip - I guess you could say I'm a creature of habit. Over the past 6 months or so I've purchased a few items which are quite different for me and it got me thinking that I should put them in my very first capsule wardrobe. Autumn is my favourite season for fashion and I know I'm going to have a lot of fun creating different outfits using these 5 key pieces.
Over The Knee Boots
I'm a massive fan of over the knee boots and I love that they can be used for a casual outfit or something a bit dressier. I tend to wear them with skirts and dresses but they also look amazing with jeans. I bought mine from Primark for around £15 and it was honestly one of the best fashion purchases I've ever made! They have a chunky heel which gives me a bit of extra height and they're actually really comfortable. Everyone should own a pair!

An Oversized Jumper
Jumpers have never been my thing but in the colder months, they're a must! I'm not really into thin, tight materials but I love anything oversized as I think it looks more flattering on me as I'm bigger in the boob region. I found this gorgeous jumper in Zara about a month ago and I'm obsessed with it. It has a bow detail at the back and it sits just below my jeans which for me is the perfect length. I got mine in cream but it also comes in red, grey, pink and black so there's something for everyone.

High-Waisted Jeans
When it comes to jeans it's skinnies or nothing for me and I recently decided to jump on the high-waisted bandwagon and I'm actually really enjoying it. Again I think these are a really good option if you've got a bit of a bum and you want something that's going to accentuate it in a nice way and give you a bit more shape. I got mine from New Look and I decided to get them in a standard blue wash to make them more versatile.

A Ribbed Dress
This was another random Zara find. It's a t-shirt style dress and it has a lovely ribbed fabric which gives it a really nice fit. I'd probably wear this with ankle boots and a leather jacket for a night out when I want to look put together but not over-done. It's also a complete bargain at £12.99!

The Cross Body Bag
Cross body bags are my go-to because they fit all of my necessities and stop me packing things I don't actually need. I found mine in the Accessorize sale about a year and a half ago and it's still going strong. I love that it's neutral with hints of faux snakeskin. It goes with pretty much all of my outfits and it makes me feel like I've made a bit more effort when I actually haven't.

So there you have my first ever capsule wardrobe! Have you ever thought about making one?

My Autumn Capsule Wardrobe
