The new Hyaluronic Hydra Foundation* is designed to infuse the skin with moisture whilst perfecting blemishes to create a truly flawless finish. A note on the packaging - I mean, you can't get more high-end than that can you? I enjoy a simple foundation tube as much as the next person but sometimes it's nice to switch things up and add a touch of luxury to your routine. I also love having a pipette dispenser as my coverage needs change all the time and the last thing I want is to waste my makeup! The foundation comes in 15 shades (I think there's always room to extend) but there's an option of three different undertones which is so important for finding the perfect match! I have the shades 100W (Fair/Warm) which is my current shade although I could probably switch to Fair/Neutral in the future and 200N (Natural/Neutral) which is going to be my Summer shade.
Now onto the good stuff, the formula... Naturally, I had high expectations for this foundation, especially after my obsession with the primer and powder. The first thing I noticed was how fluid the consistency was, it's a much thinner base than I usually go for but I actually prefer this as I can slowly build up the coverage and get a more even finish. Paired with a Beauty Blender (my preferred way to apply foundation) this duo is a match made in makeup heaven! I like to layer a small amount of the Hyaluronic Hydra Primer* underneath for some extra hold and longevity. It's fab for anyone on the more normal/combination side of the spectrum but the Light Reflecting Pigments and Hyaluronic Acid make it a particular winner for those with dry/dehydrated skin. I have the latter so I find this to be perfect for smoothing out fine lines, blurring imperfections and giving my skin a radiant boost. There's just something about the formula that leaves your skin evened out and polished but in such a natural way. I also love the added SPF 30, which helps protect the skin against UV rays - this baby really has it all! When it comes to wear-time, I find this lasts a good 8-9 hours on me before my skin starts to show signs of dehydration and oil breakdown. For me personally, this isn't bad at all as I like my base to have a glow but if you prefer something heavy-duty and mattifying, this might not be the one for you.
Obviously, at £49, this is a pricey foundation so I don't reach for it every day but I adore how it makes my skin look and the customisable coverage! It really is a beautiful product and I highly recommend checking it out along with the rest of the Hyaluronic Hydra range!
Will you be trying the new By Terry Foundation?
