It's always good to have a selection of products that are your staples for when things go wrong or you need a quick fix. Sometimes your skin is feeling dry and tight while on the train, or maybe you have a giant spot appear at the worst possible time. These are my go to 'skincare emergency' items that I can always count on to keep my skin looking clear, balanced and radiant. I hope you enjoy.
Simple Kind To Skin Micellar Water
The main reason I love micellar water is because of how quick it makes removing my makeup. Sometimes I don't feel like using an oil to get it off so this is the perfect product to get the job done when I'm feeling really tired. Of course I still do a proper cleanse afterwards. It's also a great option when travelling. The Simple Micellar Water is my favourite out of the ones I've tried because it's the most gentle and most effective, plus it's the cheapest. A win all around.

La Roche Posay Serozinc
I've been using Serozinc for years now and I'm still not bored of it. No matter what your skin type, it's something you need to have in your home. It tends to be the only toner I travel with because it helps heal any irritation, dryness or breakouts. Any time my skin is feeling 'not right', I whip it out of the cupboard.

Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm
Cleansing is such a personal step and everyone has their number one product that does exactly what they want. For me, that hero is the EH balm. It deep cleans the skin whilst keeping it properly nourished and soft. Whenever my skin feels rough and a bit greasy I do a good double cleanse with EH and my skin feels brand new afterwards.

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Serum
It can be really hard to find serums that feel like they're hydrating more than just the surface of the skin. As soon as I apply this to my face, it almost makes the skin feel like it has water on it, it's so hydrating and soothing. There is a noticeable difference in the feel of my skin when I use this. I can't be without it and it's going to be a saviour when Winter comes!

Hylamide Glow Radiance Booster
We all have those days where we wake up and look grey and tired and sometimes the only cure for that, is to add some colour to the face. This booster adds such a lovely glow without giving adding a tan. I apply it after toner and before moisturiser. After 15-20 minutes, I look healthy and fresh again. It really helps even out the skin tone like when you've had a good 8 hours of sleep.

Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask
I tend to get rough, bumpy patches of skin quite often and cleansing doesn't always get rid of it. This mask uses enzymes and acids to exfoliate, revealing bright, clear skin. I don't use it all the time because it is quite a strong mask but every now and then when my face feels like sandpaper, I pull this bad boy out. It smells like pumpkin pie too. Bonus.

Origins Drink Up Intensive Mask
When my skin is craving a thick layer of moisture I always turn to this overnight mask. You can skip serums and moisturisers and just apply this to get glowing supple skin. This is also travel friendly because of it's small and compact size. My skin always looks great the next morning.

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion
This is the item that inspired me to do this post. It's basically a mix of clay and salicylic acid which we all know are great ingredients for getting rid of blemishes. I've been getting quite a few red bumps around my mouth and right in the centre of my forehead which wouldn't go away. I applied this to any mark or blemish I had and left it on overnight. The next morning I cleansed my face and was so surprised at how well it diminished the bumps. I'd been struggling with the forehead ones for so long and they pretty much vanished. I do think it's better for active spots and bumps rather than marks, but it's still a miracle worker for me.

Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil
Everyone and their mom loves this oil and there's a perfectly good reason for that. This will cure dry, flaky lips after one use. It's a cross between a balm and oil which makes it 10x more moisturising than a standard lip balm. I've been suffering with dry, sore lips for weeks but this has dramatically improved them. It feels so luxurious when you apply it and coats the lips in a gorgeous silky oil. Hubby is a massive fan too, so ladies if you're man is picking his dry lips, give him this!
