Superdrug Simply Pure Hydrating Serum - Review

I love using serums but it can be difficult to find ones that actually make a difference to the skin. Whilst mooching on Instagram I saw a lot of skincare posts that included this product from Superdrug. Even beauty journalist Sali Hughes raves about it! After testing it for a good month or so I decided it's time to share my thoughts with you.

The serum comes in a hand sized bottle with a pump. Great for travel.
Price - £2.69 for 50ml
Texture - Thin cream
Finish - Soft, hydrated, calm skin

What they say
Simply Pure Hydrating Serum is designed to replenish and nourish sensitive skin. Enriched with calming Soothex and a fortifying Ceramide Blend, this hydrating formula helps to improve skin’s natural elasticity and suppleness for a smoother, more radiant complexion.

Key ingredients
Lactic Acid - Gently exfoliates and helps reduce appearance of scars
Ceramide Blend - Nourishing and hydrating

What is it
This is a gentle basic serum that moisturises and softens the skin. The texture absorbs quickly. It has no scent which is great for sensitive skins. Suitable for all skin types.

How I use it
After toner I apply a 5p size amount to the face and neck. This is suitable for AM and PM use. It sits nicely under moisturiser/primer and the skin feels instantly softer. It helps relieve any dry patches I sometimes get but doesn't leave me feeling greasy at the same time. A little goes a long way with this so I won't be running out any time soon.

Pros
- Affordable
- Fragrance free
- Travel friendly
- Nice texture
- Non greasy
- Great for all skin types
- No alcohol
- Hypoallergenic

Cons
- None

Summary
You need this in your life. Wether you're 14 or 44, male, female it doesn't matter, everyone should have this in their skincare routine. At £2.69 you can't fault it! If your skin needs an extra layer of moisture, give this serum a go. You won't regret it.

Thank you for reading!

  1. I've been wanting ot buy for a long time. My local superdrug don't store it and its always out of stock online - given the powerful influence of sali huguees.

You've reminded me of this serum which Ive been wanting to try for a long time. so thank you for your blog post.

also on your recommendation I bought the boots botanics oily/balmy cleanser and I'm so happy i read your review on the blog. I had no idea the product existed. - It performs like a balm cleanse with the convenience of a tube.

thank you... also please don't follow the trend of other bloggers who rave reviews about every other free stuff send to them. I wanna read about products which are affordable and fail to see the light of day on youtune and blogger.

    thanks again.

    1. Aww, you're welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed my post!!
I love the Boots Botanics Hydration Burst Cleanser, such a good balm/oil hybrid.

I really appreciate your comment! I've never been sent products and although I personally don't see anything wrong with promoting products you genuinely like, I understand what you mean. I also like to see true, personal opinions on products. I love finding a good affordable product and there are some good ones out there!

      Thank you so much!
