I love pampering myself weekly with face masks. I'll use them in the evening when I want to relax or sometimes before I apply makeup to make sure my skin is perfectly prepped. Most of you will know that I'm a huge ViviannaDoesMakas fan and am always willing to give her recommendations a go. I saw her rave about the Pumpkin Enzyme mask from PTR and knew I had to try it asap. A few months back I was shopping online at Beauty Bay and saw this amazing set of face masks which had my name all over it! I've tested them out and today I'm sharing with you my opinions on all five masks. Grab a drink and get comfy... this might take a while.  

Price - £49.95 for 5x50ml 
Texture - Mixed cream/gel/mud
Finish - Clear, fresh skin
Packaging - Plastic pots

The value of this set is great because you are basically getting five - 50ml masks for around £9 each! I believe it was first a Sephora exclusive but you can still get on the Beauty Bay site. This is the best way to try a mixture of products from a new brand without spending a fortune. If you've been interested in trying Peter Thomas Roth make I would definitely look into this collection. 





Cucumber Gel Mask


Texture - Thick gel
Finish - Refreshed, soothed skin

What they say
An ultra-gel, non-stinging, anti-irritant gel masque for all skin types including even the most sensitive skin.

Key ingredients
Cucumber Extract - Soothing and hydrating
Papaya Fruit Extract - Rich in antioxidants
Whole Leaf Aloe Vera - Packed with vitamins and minerals

What is it
This is a soothing gel mask that instantly refreshes and calms the skin. The texture speeds evenly around the face and is easy to remove. It has a soft texture which stays wet on the skin. It mostly smells of cucumber which I personally love. Suitable for all skin types.

How I use it
I apply a thick layer to the skin after cleansing. It looks bright in the pot but it's almost clear on the face. I leave it on for roughly 15-20 minutes and then remove with a hot flannel. It leaves the skin feeling soft, moisturised and calm. It also refreshed and purifies, leaving my skin looking nice and clear. 

Would I purchase a full size?
No. This mask is nice but not worth spending £29.95 for a big pot. I do like the gentle, soothing properties of this mask but I think there are better, cheaper alternatives. For summer this will be the perfect fix on those days you're feeling a a bit greasy.

24K Gold Mask


Texture - Soft, cream/gel
Finish - Glowing, soft skin

An indulgent anti-ageing treatment. Imparting an opulent glow to the skin, this luxurious mask is infused with pure 24K Gold which locks in moisture and keeps the skin firm by maintaining collagen within the skin cells and inhibiting the breakdown of elastin.

Key ingredients
Caffeine - Helps tighten and firm
24K Gold - Lifts and adds glow
Hyaluronic Acid - Helps to bind hydration to skin
Glycerin - Moisturising

What is it
This a rich cream mask that gives glow, moisture and fullness. The smooth texture spreads nicely across the skin. It does not dry. The scent is very soft and pleasant. Suitable for all skin types.

How I use it
If my skin is looking a bit dull or I want extra glow, I'll apply a thick layer of this to the face. It's a nice, gentle mask and I leave it on for 15-20 minutes and remove with a hot flannel. My skin really does look radiant and glowing after using this mask. I can't say too much about the anti-ageing claims as I'm a bit younger than the target user of the mask and I don't have mature skin.

Would I purchase a full size?
Possibly when I'm older. I will definitely use this up but it's not necessary for me to buy a huge pot as I can get my glow from other skincare and makeup. Maybe when I'm in my 20s/30s and I want an indulgent, glow boosting, firming product, I will pick up a big pot. For those mature ladies/gents out there looking for a quick and easy way to get their lustre back, this might be the one for you. 

Irish Moor Mud


Texture - Thick mud
Finish - Purified, clear skin

A traditional inspired decongesting and hydrating mask.

Key ingredients
Volcanic Ash and Charcoal - Detoxify and draw out impurities 
Black Hijiki Seaweed - High levels of calcium, vitamins and minerals
Glycerin - Moisturising
Lactic Acid - Gently exfoliates

What is it
This is a mud mask that decongests the skin which helps to remove  dirt, oil and impurities. The mask is quite thick but it's very easy to apply. This is a very thick, opaque mask, so it's not one to apply on a plane. The mask has no scent which is great. I find this to be on the stronger side so it's probably not suitable for everyone. This mask will best suit - normal, combination, oily and congested skin. Sensitive skins should be wary. 

How I use it
I spread a thick layer on the skin carefully avoiding the eye area. 10 minutes is all you need with mask to get clearer skin. It doesn't dry like a lot of mud/clay masks so you might not think it's working, but trust me it is. I take it off with a hot flannel and although it's easy to remove, it will stain your flannel/washcloth, so don't use one you mind getting grubby. 

Would I purchase a full size?
Maybe. This one will last me a very long time as a little goes a long way but I still have other mud masks which work great. Once I've used up this one and some of my others, I might get another pot of this to have in the stash. If you've been having issues with blemishes, blackheads and clogged pores you might want to give this a try. 

Rose Stem Cell


Texture - Jelly like
Finish - Hydrated, soft, smooth skin

What is it
A cooling facial mask which rejuvenates mature, sensitive and lacklustre complexions. Utilising Plant Biotechnology which isolates and replicates the perfect Rose Stem Cells for maximum skin repair, Rose Stem Cell Bio Repair Gel Mask is enriched with five Rose Stem Cells - Rose Commiphora, Desert Rose, Damas Rose, Pale Rose and White Rose which are blended with four Rose Extracts - Rosa Damascena, Rosa Canina, Rose Hip Seed and Rose Water to help target the signs of ageing.

 Rose Water - Soothing and nourishing

What is it
This is a hydrating shot of moisture for the skin. It leaves my face looking and feeling fresh, moisturised and well rested. It's a soft jelly texture which is easy to use. Of course it has a beautiful rose scent which I love but some of you may not. This is suitable for all skin types. 

How I use it
To get some extra hydration after cleansing I apply this mask to the face and leave it on for about 15 minutes. Again, I take it off with a flannel and pat the face dry with a soft towel. This is the most nourishing out of the set. My skin feels a lot smoother and moisturised after using this which is a great base for toners/serums etc. 

Would I purchase a full size?
Most likely. I don't have many hydrating masks so this was a great addition to my skincare collection. When this runs out I will probably buy a new pot unless I have something even better open at the time. If you've been looking for something to make your skin juicy and plump, you might like this. 

Pumpkin Enzyme Mask


Texture - Grainy paste
Finish - Exfoliated, glowing skin

A highly effective exfoliating treatment.

Key ingredients
Natural Pumpkin Enzymes - Gently eat away at dead skin
Alpha Hydroxy Acids - Exfoliates and reveals fresh, new skin 
Aluminium Oxide - Polishes

What is it
This is a resurfacing treatment that quickly removes the dead skin giving you a bright, radiant and revitalised complexion. With both physical and chemical exfoliants, this is the perfect product if your skin is clogged, dull and rough. It smells like a gorgeous pumpkin spiced latte, which makes it a dream to use. The texture is quite thin but it's very easy to build a good layer on the face. As soon as I apply it, I can feel it working and it can sting because of the acids. This mask is strong, even for me, so it won't work for all skin types. Normal, oily, combination and mature could use this but sensitive skins will not like this at all. 

How I use it
I apply a thin layer to my face and neck after cleansing. After 10 minutes, I gently rinse it off with warm water and pat my skin dry. Using a flannel can be too much exfoliation. It's like I have brand new skin after using this. There's no roughness, my pores look refined and I'm even a bit glowy. I always apply SPF the next morning before I go out, this id definitely one to use at night. 

Would I purchase a full size?
Yes. This is the most unique face mask I own and definitely the best in terms of fast results. Most of you will know I love using acids and exfoliating so to have it in a face mask is like heaven. I can only use this once or twice a week but the effects last a long time. This also helps serums and moisturisers work better because they can penetrate deeper. I will definitely purchase a big pot when this runs out but that won't be for a while. If you're looking for something to polish, exfoliate and smooth your skin, you need to try this pot of heaven, as long as you aren't sensitive!
