january beauty favourites 2020
Wow, for a moment there I thought January was never going to end! Why does the New Year always drag? Anyway, we've made it through the first month of 2020 and I'm pleased to say my year has started off much better than I anticipated! I've been focusing more on myself & my goals and my productivity has soared! I'm so excited to start creating new content (quick thought, would anyone be interested in an updated blog planning/content related post?) I've got a bunch of favourites to share with you today but I also thought I'd mix it up and share some of my overall monthly highlights as well as the beauty picks! Let's dive in...

Since the majority of you are beauty addicts like me it's only appropriate I start with everything I've been shoving on my face the past four weeks. The Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Purpose Dry Oil is an oldie but a goodie. It's one of those products that I just have to have handy in case I'm ever looking a bit dull and scaly and want something luxurious to slather myself in. I use it on my body, hair, pretty much anywhere that has a tendency to feel dry and how many years later after first using it, I'm still hypnotised by the scent! For makeup, I've got two stand out products, the Charlotte Tilbury Bigger Brighter Eyes Exaggereyes Palette has been on my blog countless times before as it's just such a great everyday quad! Full of beautiful rosy hues and a gorgeous transparent sparkle, this is what I've been reaching for every single time I do my eyes. The second pick is still fairly new to me but has become an absolute must in my makeup bag! Everyone and their mum seem to love Benefit brow products and not long ago I picked up their Precisely My Brow Pencil in 4.5 and it has completely changed my brow game! The super-fine nib makes it really easy to create defined yet natural strokes that mimic real brow hairs so you can go as natural or dramatic as you want. And it absolutely will not budge!

I've discovered so many amazing skincare products over the last month (blog posts pending) but today I thought I'd talk about the bits I used the most throughout January. The Good Molecules Silicone-Free Priming Moisturiser* has been my go-to any time I've worn makeup. Instead of a day cream, I'll take a 5p sized amount, massage it all over my face and slightly down the neck and it just has the smoothest texture that leaves my skin well moisturised and plump with just the right amount of tackiness to hold my foundation. It's formulated with Shea Butter - I've personally had no issues with breakouts when using this, Macadamia Seed Oil and a Plant-Derived Silicone alternative for a seriously nourished finish! It's super affordable too! On the other side of my routine, we have The Inkey List Salicylic Acid Cleanser which I use every morning and most evenings to keep my skin beautifully smooth and decongested. The gel formula isn't too thick and emulsifies into a deep cleansing but non-irritating wash - perfect for oily/blemish-prone skin! Skin texture be gone!

I've been obsessed with the Olay Glow Boost Clay Stick* for months now. It's such a unique and genius way to apply the product as it cuts out all of the mess and you can simply swipe it on the areas you want to target in seconds. This particular one is White Clay based to help draw out impurities and reveal fresher skin but it doesn't dry super tight so it's really comfortable and after 10 minutes you're left with a super smooth, radiant complexion! The Dermalogica Nightly Lip Treatment* has also been well-loved recently, it's very different to a traditional lip balm as it's more of a lotion/creamy texture and the metal applicator is definitely a luxurious touch. I use this every night and my lips feel baby smooth the next morning and my lippies apply like a dream - love!

As I mentioned earlier I wanted to switch things up and share some lifestyle favourites, starting with my visit to the Glossier Pop Up in London (Covent Garden to be exact). It opened some months back and was originally going to closing mid-Feb but it's now sticking around for the rest of the year - woop woop! It's such a cute space, filled with four differently coloured layouts laden with goodies. It's the perfect way to test out their products in person and get some cute selfies all in one! On the same day, I also attended an event with The Inkey List which was super exciting! I got to talk with one of their team in-depth about my skin and created a mini Inkey routine and discovered some new products that are perfect for my current skin concerns. I also got a sneak peek at their upcoming releases and let me tell you they've got some amazing bits lined up! I'm particularly excited to try the new Retinol Eye Cream which had the most beautiful consistency and their Oat Cleansing Balm - how lush does that sound? My final favourite is actually food-related but will be nothing new to those of you who follow me on Instagram! I discovered the Whittards Sticky Toffee Pudding White Hot Chocolate around October time last year but only just purchased a full tub and now I don't ever want to be without it. It's a tub of pure toffee, white chocolate heaven!

What products were you loving last month?
