When I was in my teens my skin was very typical, a bit shiny and congested and every now and then I'd have a massive spot appear right on the tip of my nose. Puberty, aye! But recently both my face and body have become so dry and dehydrated and I'm constantly having to deal with tight, flaky skin that gets very easily irritated. I also have eczema which makes the whole thing ten times worse. Over the Winter period, I've managed to find a small group of products that hydrate and soothe my skin without being too heavy.
My skincare routine has been pretty consistent over the past few weeks so I haven't really been switching things up, but one product that I have recently started using is the Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream which is probably the best moisturiser I've ever used! It's a rich yet lightweight cream that leaves the skin feeling super hydrated and nourished. It makes a great base for makeup too! If I'm having a particularly dry day then I'll layer a bit of The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil underneath to really supercharge my skin.

I've mentioned in previous posts that I'm very fussy when it comes to body products as I seem to react to almost everything but I have found a new shower item that's completely changed my skin. I saw the Sanex Advanced Hydrate 24H Shower Cream on offer in Boots and decided to give it a whirl and despite not having high expectations, this is now one of my Winter staples. It's kind of similar to those in-shower body moisturisers as it has a creamy texture that lathers, leaving you clean but not stripped. Plus, you don't have to worry about applying a body cream afterwards which is perfect for us lazy girls!

I also have a couple of add-ons which I use on more specific areas. The first is the L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream which I apply every night in a thick layer to ensure soft, silky hands the next morning. I've almost finished mine and I think I'm going to try the Almond version next! The second product is the Pure Potions Skin Salvation Moisturising Ointment which I've raved about multiple times before. It's an all-natural balm that I apply to any stubborn patches of dry skin or eczema for instant comfort and moisture. I can't be without it!
