I mentioned in a recent blog post that I was looking to try some new makeup products from certain brands and one of them was Bobbi Brown. A few weeks ago I decided to pay a visit to my local store which actually worked out pretty well for me as they were running a 20% off deal on any item you purchased that day. I ended up walking away with the Vitamin Enriched Face Base which is raved about by everyone and is something that I've wanted to try for years!
bobbi brown vitamin enriched face base review
It retails at £43 for 50ml which is pretty pricey for a primer but I definitely think it's worth considering if you're into high-end products. The packaging is very luxurious and it looks gorgeous on my desk and in my makeup bag.

When I first heard about this product I wasn't sure how best to use it but I think it depends on your skin type. If you're fairly oily you can use this as a moisturiser to hydrate the skin and help your makeup last longer or if you have a drier skin, it works perfectly as a pre-foundation base. It has a rich, creamy texture but it doesn't feel heavy or clogging which I love. It's formulated with Shea Butter to moisturise and soothe, Vitamins B, C and E and has a lovely fresh/fruity scent. After applying my skincare routine I massage a 5p sized amount into my face focusing on the dry areas such as my forehead and around my nose. It absorbs like a dream and it leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft and smooth. Foundation sits beautifully on top of this and it also helps it last a lot longer and stops it going patchy throughout the day.

I'm so glad I finally decided to try this as it's exactly what my dry skin needs right now! If your foundation isn't sitting perfectly or you're in the market for a new primer, I would highly recommend checking this out!

Have you tried this primer? What are your thoughts?

Over the past few weeks, I've been giving my makeup bag a bit of a re-jig as I was getting really bored with using the same products day in day out. I also needed to replace a few of the items in my routine as they weren't really working out for me. I'm super happy with everything I've picked up and today I thought I would show you the new additions to my makeup bag.
Real Techniques MultiTech Large Point Makeup Brush
I've wanted a new face brush for ages now so when I saw the Point L brush on offer for £7.99, I couldn't resist. All of the brushes in this range are super soft and tapered to a point/dome shape to help your makeup blend seamlessly.

EX1 Invisiwear Liquid Foundation | 1
I'm very fussy when it comes to spending money on a new foundation but this is raved about by so many people on Instagram, I couldn't not try it! They say it's a 'lightweight and luminous liquid base formulated with light diffusers to unify skin tone and cover imperfections'. I've got high hopes for this!

Eylure Fleur De Force Brow Define | Medium
Recently all of my brow pencils have either been too warm or just the wrong texture so I decided to give this a go and I'm actually really impressed with it! It's the perfect mid-brown shade and the nib is really fine so you can create a natural finish in seconds. I'm obsessed!

L'Oreal Infallible Luminizing Primer
I was really surprised by this primer as it has a super-luminous, light reflective finish but doesn't look shimmery or glittery on the skin whatsoever. I've mixed it in with my IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream a few times and it gave me such a beautiful, lit from within glow. I also had photographs taken whilst wearing that combo and my skin looked incredible. Like literally the best, it had ever looked! If you love to look glowy but can't find a primer that won't make you look greasy, you need to check this out! They also have one for pores, redness and fatigue!

bbrowbar Eyebrow Gel | Clear*
This was in the Love Indulge goody bag I got when I attended one of their events back in February. It's just a simple clear brow gel and it's quite pricey so I'm really looking forward to seeing if it's worth the money!

Gosh Velvet Touch Lip Liner | Nougat Crisp
This was actually the very first lip pencil I ever owned and I always remember how sassy I felt when I bought it. It's the perfect pinky-nude shade (very similar to Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk) and it's amazing for adding volume and definition without looking obvious. I can't recommend it enough!

Dior Addict Lip Glow | 001
The final product is this tinted lip balm. I've always wanted one of these as I love sheer lip products that you can just throw on without a mirror. This shade is really soft and girly and I love the gorgeous sheen it gives. The packaging is stunning too!

I don't have many active serums in my skincare stash at the moment so I was super excited when Dr Roebuck's kindly offered to send me a few bits from their range to try out. All of their products are formulated to include minimal ingredients with maximum results and can be used day or night depending on the needs of your skin. They're also free from fillers, colour, perfume, glycols and are all cruelty-free. How fab is that? I'm super excited about everything I've been sent and today I thought I would talk a bit more about the products and my thoughts on them so far.

Protect & Prevent Serum*
I've wanted a product like this in my skincare routine for such a long time. It contains powerful plant extracts to strengthen, revitalise and prevent damage to the skin. It's specifically targeted towards those with stressed/depleted skin but actually, every skin type would benefit from using this. It contains Inca Inchi Oil which is rich in poly-unsaturated fatty acids which improve healing and helps the overall texture and softness of the skin. It also contains Ginseng Extract which has anti-inflammatory properties and can protect the skin from UVB-induced photoaging and Aloe Vera Gel to stimulate fibroblasts, which produces collagen and elastin fibres which give the skin a more firm, less wrinkled appearance. The serum has a lovely milky texture which spreads really evenly across the face and instantly leaves my skin feeling super soft and hydrated but not greasy.

Reverse Aging Serum*
I know most of you will probably roll your eyes at me for using an anti-ageing product but I actually find them to be really beneficial for the skin issues I have. This serum protects the skin from free radical damage and promotes elasticity, resulting in a more radiant skin. It contains similar ingredients to the first serum but also includes Retinol which is proven to reverse signs of ageing. This is a very gentle formula and you won't get any peeling or redness as you might with other products that contain retinol. There's also Vitamin B3 (niacinamide) and Creatine in here which helps stimulate collagen synthesis, firms and reduces signs of hyperpigmentation. This is definitely one to check out if signs of ageing are your main concern.

Boost & Tighten Serum*
I've never used a 'tightening' product before so I'm really excited about this one. It says it's best suited to those with dull skin that lacks firmness but again, anyone can use it. It contains Plant-Based Squalane to help moisture and protect the skin's barrier, Ginseng to brighten and tone and Hyaluronic Acid which plumps, help retain water and decreases the appearance of fine lines. All of the serums have a gorgeous texture that isn't greasy in the slightest and they have a light herbal scent which I personally love. This is something I would use at night to help replenish my tired, dull skin.

If I wasn't an organised person I think my head would probably explode with how easily overwhelmed it gets. Unfortunately, I'm one of those people that can't do anything until I've thought it through a hundred times and made a list to go with it. When I first started blogging I didn't really have a system but at that time it was just a hobby, I'm now freelance so it's extremely important that I stay on top of things. I know a lot of people procrastinate and struggle to stay organised when blogging so today I thought I would share a few of my top tips to help keep you on track and away from Netflix!
Complete The Hardest Tasks First
For me, photography is the hardest thing about blogging. I'm not very naturally creative and although I try to be fancy with my photos, most of the time I like to stick to the basics. So to stop myself from getting stressed, I like to take my photos before I actually write the post. That way the hard part is over and I can focus on the easier task that I actually enjoy.

Get Into To Writing Lists
This is such a boring tip but if you have a hundred and one things going on in your head, it's very hard to know where to begin so as long as I have my notes written down in my blog planner or even my phone, I can think clearly and not worry that I've missed something important.

Declutter Your Workspace
I've realised recently just how much clutter impacts my ability to focus and complete tasks. My desk is super bare right now but I actually prefer it that way. A lot of the times when I've had writer's block I've noticed that I start to play with things on my desk but this way the temptation isn't there and I can just focus on writing. It really makes a difference!

So recently I've been switching up a few of the products in my everyday foundation routine and I've been super happy with how they've been making my skin look. I've had a lot more redness and pigmentation than usual *insert sad emoji* so I knew I needed to change some of the products I was using. It's a fairly minimal routine and I love that I can just throw everything on, blend it all out with a sponge and be done.
I always like to start with a primer even when I've moisturised as my skin is quite dehydrated and often shows dry patches through my foundation. I usually go for something glowy and hydrating and I've recently started using the Becca Backlight Priming Filter which is one of the best pre-foundation bases I've ever tried! It does an amazing job of smoothing out the skin and blurring imperfections whilst giving the most gorgeous, dewy sheen. At first, I was worried it was going to look really glittery and obvious but it just makes your skin look really fresh and your foundation apply 100x better.

Depending on how my skin is looking that day I'll either go in with something really lightweight and natural or super full coverage. At the moment I'm loving the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream because it has a glowy finish, gives me sun protection and covers pretty much everything! I find it works really with the primer as they both have a really smooth, creamy texture that glides over the skin. To cover any blemishes and dark circles I just apply a small amount of the Glossier Stretch Concealer. After my base is fully perfected I like to apply a light dusting of the KIKO Radiant Fusion Baked Powder which helps set my foundation without looking cakey or heavy on the skin.

I've used Vitamin C products in my skincare routine for years now and I still find it to be one of the most beneficial ingredients you can use after SPF and Hyaluronic Acid. It comes in a bunch of different forms and today I wanted to talk about the benefits of using Vitamin C in your routine and show you my top three picks.
So to start off, what is Vitamin C and what exactly does it do? Ascorbic Acid is a water-soluble vitamin and powerful anti-oxidant that we can't store in the body so we have to get it from our diets. It helps protect against free radical damage and pollution, promotes collagen synthesis and gives the skin a brighter, firmer appearance and also helps with signs of ageing. No wonder it's so popular! There's no denying it's a wonderful ingredient to incorporate into your skincare routine and personally I can't be without it! Nowadays pretty much every skincare brand has some sort of Vitamin C product and I'm so glad it's becoming more popular.

I love facial mists as they're great for adding a protective layer on the skin when you're going to be out in the city surrounded by pollution and grime. The Body Shop Vitamin C Energising Face Spritz is amazing for refreshing the skin and giving you an instant boost when you're feeling a bit dull or dehydrated. It works really well over makeup and smells delicious! Another product I love and have used for years is the Super Facialist Vitamin C Brighten Glow Boost Skin Serum. I've loved everything I've tried from this range and for good reason. This has a beautiful light texture that absorbs really well and makes a great base for any moisturiser you put over top. When I use this consistently my skin looks so much brighter and the overall texture is a lot smoother. It's a great budget find! The most recent addition to my Vit C family is The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 30% in Silicone*. I haven't been using this long enough to give my concluded thoughts but so far it's doing a great job at leaving my skin bright and glowy the next morning. The silicone texture is quite hard to get used to but once it's massaged into the skin you can hardly notice it! I'll definitely keep you updated on this one!

February was without a doubt the quickest month I've ever had! Despite writing thirteen blog posts I seriously have no idea where all that time went! I'm not complaining though as I can't wait for these cold days to go away and Spring to finally be here! I found quite a few new favourites last month so instead of rambling on, let me show you what they were!
february favourites 2018
I didn't wear a lot of makeup throughout February as most of the time I was just at home but on the days where I needed a bit of coverage, this was the primer I would reach for. It's formulated with Coconut Water and Probiotics and it leaves my skin feeling super soft and hydrated. It spreads over the skin beautifully and creates the perfect base for foundation. It's also silicone-free which is another reason why I love it!

I bought this last year and completely forgot about it but I've recently been using it as a blush topper and I love it! It's a peachy-pink highlighter that gives a gorgeous healthy glow without being overly pigmented or shimmery. It's also really buildable so you can apply a light amount or really layer it up.

Urban Decay X Gwen Stefani 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil | Ex-Girlfriend
Recently I've really been enjoying using a nude liner with a bit of lip balm on top as it's super quick to apply and easy to touch up throughout the day. Unfortunately, this shade isn't available anymore but the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk and Gosh Velvet Lip Liner in Nougat Crisp are very similar.

My hair has been a bit drier than normal lately so I've been using this dry oil when my hair is damp or once my hair is styled to add shine, repair damage and eliminate frizz. It's really lightweight and easy to spread through the hair and it smells incredible! It's a must-have for everyone!

I've been using this serum quite a lot recently and it's really helped clear up a lot of my congestion and blemishes. Sometimes exfoliating treatments can leave my skin red or sensitive but this never does!

Sukin Cream Cleanser
I mentioned this product in a recent haul and after testing it out for a week I can safely say that this is my new favourite affordable cleanser. It has a gorgeous creamy texture that spreads really well and it removes all of my makeup and cleans the skin without leaving it feeling dry or tight. It has a very similar smell and consistency to the Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask so if you like that you'll absolutely love this!

DHC Lip Cream
This is a super simple product but it has been doing wonders for my dry, flaky lips. I just apply it whenever my lips are feeling dry and uncomfortable and it helps keep them soft and moisturised all throughout the day. It's super handy for travel too!

The Body Shop Oils Of Life Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil
The weather is horrendous at the moment and all of the snow and wind has really started to take a toll on my skin so I've been using this facial oil 3-4 times a week and I can't believe what a difference it's made! It smells amazing and it leaves my skin feeling really hydrated and plump and a lot less irritated which is amazing!

Feather & Down Sweet Dreams All Purpose Sleep Balm
Somewhere in the last 6/7 months, I've become a full-on night owl and whilst I don't mind as I manage to get a lot of work done, falling asleep is no easy task and most nights I just end up tossing and turning. I picked this up on a whim but it actually turned out to be one of the best purchases I've ever made! It's a little pot of aromatherapy goodness and whenever I apply it to my wrists and chest I instantly feel relaxed and manage to fall asleep easier. I can't recommend it enough!
