If there's one makeup item that can transform my face, it's tinted moisturiser. I'm always on the hunt for a new one and I now have a fairly decent collection with just about every texture, finish and price point you could think of. With Summer being a popular time of year for light bases, I thought I would show you my favourite tinted moisturisers and tell you which is best for what concern.
Best For Glow - Estee Lauder Enlighten EE Skintone Corrector SPF 30 - £35
On those days where my skin is looking dry and dull, I can always count on this to give me a super glowy, healthy base. It offers a very light coverage which is just enough to take down redness and give you a more even base. It contains SPF 30 which is great for those who tend to forget it or like an SPF free moisturiser. It's probably not the best for those with oily/blemish prone skin as it will draw attention to imperfections and probably make you look a bit greasy but if you have normal-dry skin and you want something that's going to give you a J-LO glow, you've got to check this out!

Best For Coverage - IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream + SPF 50 - £30
What I love about this one is that although it is very full coverage, it still looks beautiful and natural on the skin, especially when applied with fingers or a damp sponge. A little goes a long way and it's a great one for those who suffer with acne, rosacea and other prominent skin concerns. It also has a built in serum which is formulated with Hyaluronic Acid, Peptides, Niacin and Vitamins A, B, C and E. This is definitely my favourite out of all of them and I love that it contains SPF 50!

Best For Flawless Skin - Pixi H20 Skin Tint - £24
This water based skin tint gives me such a flawless, glowy finish but is so lightweight and natural at the same time. I'm not sure how they've done it, but whenever I apply this with a damp sponge my base looks lovely and polished. It has great staying power and is perfect for those who don't like heavy textures or full on foundations!

Best For Normal Skin - bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream - £27
Whilst I do think this is a great product, it's definitely my least favourite out of the group. Compared to the others it just doesn't do that much for me. It does even out my skin tone and I do appreciate the SPF 30 and wide shade range but apart from that it's just not great for my skin. I also find it can be a little more obvious on the skin if you have dry patches or peach fuzz. I know this is a staple for so many people but for me personally, it's not my first choice.

Best For Teens - La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+ Unifiant Light - £16.50
The tinted version of the original Effaclar Duo, this is designed to unclog pores, refine the skin's texture and provide a light coverage. It definitely helps even out the skin tone and whilst it does lightly cover my problem areas, I can't say it completely clears congestion over time. I love this simply because it's a great quick fix for when I need to pop out and I need something to cover my redness and discolouration. I would highly recommend it to teens as it's a great one for blemish prone skin!

It's no secret that I'm obsessed with face masks. I think they make such a big difference to the quality of my skin and no matter which one I use I always tend to see some kind of result. I've already talked about overnight masks in this blog post so today I'm going to focus on exfoliating and detoxifying masks.
Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask - £39.50
If you're looking for some serious re-surfacing action then this is the mask for you. It uses Pumpkin Enzymes, Alpha Hydroxy Acids and Aluminium Oxide particles to buff and smooth the surface of the skin. You just leave it on for 3-7 minutes and then rinse it off with tepid water. It can be a little strong so I'd only recommend using it once a week at first.

Happy Place Cosmetics Chocoholic Face Mask - £14
On those days where my skin needs a little pick me up this is the mask I reach for. It's a really soft clay mask formulated with Kaolin, Glycerin, Aloe Leaf Extract and unrefined Cacau. One of the main reasons I love it is because it doesn't set extremely hard on the face like some other clay masks do. After 10 minutes my skin looks clear and feels lovely and soft. This is perfect for all skin types!

Palmer's Purifying Enzyme Mask - £5.49
This is the newest addition to my collection and so far I'm really enjoying it. This is also a Kaolin based mask but it also contains natural Papaya Fruit Acids to gently exfoliate and remove dead skin. It's also packed with moisturising agents like Cocoa Seed Butter, Shea Butter and Sweet Almond Oil. This one has a thick, creamy consistency which spreads really nicely over the face and leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft and balanced. If you're looking for a budget face mask that still packs a punch I would definitely give this a go!

I've been using the Glycolic serum from this range for a good 4/5 months now and it's doing wonders for my skin so I was really excited when I saw that they also made exfoliating pads. I love using pads when I travel and also when I want to take a break from my physical exfoliators. There are quite a few brands that make acid pads but most of them tend to be around the £10 mark or over so I'm really happy to have found some that are extremely affordable but work just as well!
You get 60 pads for £5.99 which I think is incredible value for money. They come in a small plastic tub which is super handy for travel. Unlike some other pads, these are really soft so they don't scratch or feel uncomfortable when you use them.

The pads are soaked in Glycolic Acid and Fruit Acids which help to remove dead skin cells and even out the skin's texture. They're also great for clearing congestion, reducing spots and giving the skin a gorgeous healthy glow. After cleansing I just swipe a pad all over my face and neck and follow up with the rest of my routine. They can be used daily or every other day depending on how your skin tolerates AHAs but it is worth noting that they are very gentle on the skin. Whenever I use them I always notice a massive difference in my skin, especially when I use them consistently. My congested areas always look flawless and the texture of my skin is extremely smooth. They definitely rival some of the more popular versions of this product!

These will work for any skin type as long as you can tolerate Glycolic Acid. If you want you could use them both AM and PM or just in the evening. However you use them, just be sure to follow up with SPF the next time you're going to be in the sun!

If you're on a budget or aren't sure where to start when it comes to exfoliating pads, I would highly recommend giving these a go!

When it comes to my base I usually like things to be quite fresh and dewy but because of my combination skin this can quickly turn into a greasy mess if I don't set it with some kind of powder. The tricky thing with most setting powders is that they're designed to take all of the shine out of the face which can actually make the skin look dry and cakey. Not a good look...
I know this is a problem for a lot of people so today I thought I would talk about some of my favourite powders that don't make me look like a raisin.
Kiko Milano Radiant Fusion Baked Powder - £14.90
I know I've talked about this product before but I just have to give it a quick mention. If you're looking for a powder that's going to give you a bit of coverage, set your makeup and add a bit of sheen, then this is the one for you. The texture is really smooth and it blends beautifully no matter how you apply it. It's also great for touching up throughout the day as it doesn't sit on the skin or look heavy. It comes in a wide range of shades and is great for all skin types. I love the packaging too!

Maybelline Fit Me Pressed Powder - £5.99
This is a bit more mattifying than the other two but definitely still carries on the theme of being lightweight and natural looking. If my t-zone is starting to look particularly shiny or I want to set underneath my eyes this tends to be what I reach for. This is a great budget option!

bareMinerals Invisible Light Translucent Powder Duo - £28
The final offering is this duo from bareMinerals. It comes with a matte powder which sets the face ever so slightly and a glow powder to add a undetectable sheen. Both are designed to blur imperfections and give the skin a natural flawless finish. The product only comes in one shade but it's designed to work on all skin tones. It is a little pricey but if you don't need a lot of coverage and you just want something that's going to enhance your skin rather than mask it, you need to give this a go!

I got married just over a year ago and whilst it was the happiest period in my life, there were definitely a few moments during the planning where I thought I was going to tear my hair out. K and I were the sole planners of the wedding which is what we preferred as we didn't want everyone else's opinion getting in the way of what we wanted, (something I'll come back to later).
Don't get me wrong, it wasn't all anxiety and panic attacks. For the most part it was the most fun and exciting experience of my life. Planning your wedding really does fill you with a complete mix of emotions and now that wedding season is upon us, I thought it might be helpful to some of you for me to share my advice on how to get the day of your dreams without all the headache!

Before you know it you'll have quotes and numbers coming out of your ears and the only way to not feel overwhelmed is to have it all on paper where you know what's what. You can get a specific wedding planner or a simple notepad, it's completely up to you. Having everything split into neat sections makes it so much easier to keep on top of payments, contact information for suppliers and all of the other important bits.

Select Your Wedding Party Wisely and Quickly
It didn't take long for me to realise who was interested in being a part of my wedding and who wasn't so to stop any disappointment I strongly advise you sort out who's going to be in your wedding party very early on. Another thing to note is you don't have to have 10 bridesmaids and 10 best men if you don't want to. My wedding party consisted of my brother and my best friend and they were all K and I needed.

Stay True To Your Vision
Everyone has their own personal opinion on what makes the perfect wedding and whilst you might care about your auntie's opinion on what flavour the cake should be or how your mother in law thinks you should wear your hair, just remember it's your day and the last thing you want is to look back on the day and have regrets. We wanted a very formal, traditional yet modern wedding and although some people may have preferred things to be slightly different, we couldn't be happier with the style we chose.

Prioritise
Budget always seems to creep up at some point or other and no two weddings have the same flexibility. If you've fallen in love with a really expensive dress that takes up half your budget then that's fine but just remember you may have to cut back on other elements in the wedding. We spent the majority of our budget on the outfits, decor, cake and venue and then saved on everything else.

Don't Stress
I'm not usually an anxious person unless I'm worried about something that I really care about so you can probably imagine what I was like during the planning. I constantly felt sick, on edge and just like I couldn't focus on anything else besides the wedding. For some reason the only way I thought everything would work out was if I thought about it 24/7. This isn't healthy or true and even after things were confirmed, I still felt unsure and unsettled.
I know it's easy to panic and think nothing will get done or that the day won't be right but as long as you plan everything out, book your suppliers and stay on top of payments, everything will fall into place, trust me. All of those sleepless nights and mini panic attacks aren't going to make the day run any smoother. It's just going to give you and your partner a migraine!

A few extra things to keep in mind :
Don't forget to communicate with your partner.
Make sure you do a lot of research before selecting your suppliers.
Double check everything! And I do mean everything!
Try to pay off most of the balance before the wedding.
Put all of your important pieces in one place. The last thing you want is to lose the rings or your veil.
Have fun and stop being so serious! Before you know you'll be on the dance floor partying the night away without a care in the world.

The other day I was doing quite a bit of online window shopping and it reminded me that it was about time I show you my Summer Wishlist. Rather than just doing makeup and skincare, I thought I would include some home and fashion items as well to make it a bit more interesting. (Plus, it gives me more excuse to shop!)
Habitat Regency Pink Velvet Cushion
Hubby and I are planning to re-decorate our bedroom and this cushion is exactly what I've been looking for. It's a bit pricey but I think it will match our new bed perfectly.

Glossier Boy Brow
I have a bit of a thing for brow gels and this one has been on my never ending list of things to buy for a while. Hurry up and get to the UK, Glossier!

Quay Australia x Desi Perkins High Key Black Fade Sunglasses
Obviously these aren't the cheapest sunglasses in the world but they're definitely more affordable than a lot of other big brands. I love everything about these from the shape to the colour and I really want to get a pair before they discontinue them.

The Ordinary Advanced Retinoid 2%
I've been thinking about trying Retinol for a while now but I don't want to use something that's really strong. This one contains two next-generation retinoids which work to reduce the signs of ageing without causing irritation. If you've tried this I'd love to know what you think of it!

Benefit Cheek Parade
I'm constantly hearing amazing things about Benefit blushes and bronzers and this palette has all of the shades I'd like to try including their new golden pink shade, Galifornia.

Clinique Moisture Surge Hydrating Supercharged Concentrate
This has a water-gel based consistency which I think would be perfect for this time of year when you don't want anything too greasy or heavy on the skin.

Primark Black Denim Jacket
I've been after a black denim jacket for months now and this one looks perfect.

NYX Total Control Drop Foundation
Now that it's getting a bit warmer in the UK I've been looking for a foundation that won't melt off my face after 10 minutes. I've swatched this in store and it had a lovely smooth texture.

Apple MacBook
I'm hoping to get a laptop soon and it would be amazing to have a MacBook.

New Look Cream Pina Colada Slogan Purse
I don't think I'd actually use this purse very much but it's just so cute and it's only £3.99!

H&M Printed White Palm Leaf Porcelain Plate
H&M do some amazing home bits and I was so excited when I found this plate on their site. It has a gorgeous foiled print and it looks much more expensive than it actually is. They also have matching bowls, napkins and tea towels!

Michael Kors Jet Set Travel Medium Saffiano Leather Tote
I've been doing a bit too much high-end window shopping haven't I?

Skinny Dip Pink Glitter Flamingo Phone Case
I love anything that's pink or glittery but when you add flamingos to the mix, I'm even more for it. This brand makes such fun and unique phones cases and I'd highly recommend checking them out if you're looking for a new one.

Desenio Chanel Perfume Bottle Poster
Prints are some of my favourite home accessories and Desenio have just about every design you could think of. Whether you like nature, illustrations or fashion, they have something for everyone.

Are any of these items on your Summer Wishlist?

I've wanted to do one of these for a while now and seen as I didn't get my monthly favourites post up on time, I thought I would show you 5 things I've recently been loving.
Marie Claire Magazine
To be honest it's not just Marie Claire that I've been loving, I also have an addiction to Glamour and Cosmopolitan. When I'm travelling or just need a little time out I love nothing more than relaxing with a hot cuppa and nice glossy mag. Anyone else enjoy doing the same?

Lovisa Heart Studs

Until I got married I wasn't much of a jewellery person (I've always preferred beauty over fashion), but nowadays I find myself experimenting more with accessorising and when I found these studs, I instantly fell in love. They're hardly noticeable under my long hair but they make me feel feminine and put together. And they were only £1.50!

Quay Australia Black Vivienne Sunglasses

The sun is starting to show in the UK which means it's sunglasses time! I have a few different pairs but most of the time I've been opting for these black aviators. You just can't go wrong with a pair of oversized sunnies!

Happy Place Cosmetics Salted Caramel Wax Melt

I'm a big fan of using candles and wax melts to scent my home and as soon as I heard people say that this was the same heavenly scent as their Cookie Dough Face Scrub, I knew I had to have it. The cubes last for a really long time and the scent fills the home without being overpowering.

Vans Black and White Old Skool Trainers
Although I love wearing heels for special occasions, on a day to day basis I'm definitely a trainers kinda' girl. I had seen these on quite a few people and it wasn't long before I was in Office trying them on. They're comfortable, easy to style and very practical. Definitely worth checking out!
