Some of you may or may not know that I am totally cleanser obsessed. Whether it be a milk, cream, gel or balm, I just can't resist trying new ones and adding them to my stash. Everyone has a weakness...
Cleansing is so personal as everybody's skin is different and reacts better to certain products and methods. I love using rich, oily balms that nourish the skin, leaving it soft and protected, while some people prefer foams which give a more 'squeaky clean' effect. There's another common cleansing preference and that's emulsifying. This means the product breaks down and turns into a milk when water is added to it. It also eliminates the need for a flannel/face cloth because of the thinner texture. Even though I prefer to remove my cleanser while it’s in the ‘oily’ stage, I thought I’d share with you some of my favourites for emulsifying.
Good Things Manuka Honey Creamy Cleanser - £4.99
This is such a bargain product. It's a gorgeous cream cleanser that gently removes all grease, dirt and left over makeup. It uses Royal Jelly to condition and replenish the skin whilst anti-bacterial Manuka Honey cleanses and balances the skin. I like to massage this into dry skin for about a minute, then add some water to loosen the product and then remove it with a flannel. Of course you can rinse off if you prefer. This is a good option if you're on a budget but need something nourishing and good for all skin types.

REN Rose Centifolia Cleansing Gel - £6
This is my go to for the Summer time. It's a lovely light gel that cleans the skin without stripping the natural oils of the face. When my skin is acting up I usually go for this as it's really gentle but still does a good job at thoroughly cleaning the skin. It smells of rose which I find really soothing. Once I've worked it into the skin I'll add some water and it turns into a gorgeous foamy milk that rinses off in no time.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser - £14
I have become totally addicted to this product over the past couple months. It contains ingredients like Rosemary, Chamomile, Cocoa Butter and Eucalyptus Oil which my skin just seems to love. This again turns into a milky cream which is very comforting on the skin. It's also a great one for double cleansing. If you're looking for something with more oomph, this one is for you!

Pixi Skintreats Glow Mud Cleanser - £18
As the name would suggest, this is a mud based cleanser that helps to brighten, exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin after just one use. It has a very similar scent to Glow Tonic. This is a bit drier in texture compared to the others which can make it difficult to massage into the skin, so I find emulsifying to be essential with this one. It's easily one of my top 5 cleansers of all time!

Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Gel - £21
This is the cleanser that gave me the idea for this post in the first place. It's actually designed to transform from a gel, to an oil and then into a milk. It's a gorgeous silky formula made with Marula Plant Oil to promote collagen production, improve skin elasticity and protect against free radical damage. This is suitable for all skin types and is a great all round cleanser. It has a slight musky scent which is so comforting to inhale. I think this is my favourite out of the bunch and it's definitely worth checking out!

Is emulsifying your preference? Which products do you think work best?

When I first sat down to write today's blog post I originally planned on doing a beauty related post, but then I thought maybe it'll be fun to switch things up a bit and tell you guys a bunch of facts about me. I've realised that a lot of the time I try so hard to keep my blog professional that I don't show much of my personality which is very important when trying to engage readers. I personally find it much easier to follow a blogger/YouTuber when I can relate to them in one way or another. Blogging is all about sharing your opinions and experiences but there's no point working really hard on blog posts to engage readers when they don't know very much about you. I really hope you enjoy this post and hopefully, after this, you'll feel like you know me a little bit better.

When it comes to beauty I'm all about looking glowy and radiant. Sometimes I'll just throw on a bit of highlighter and call it a day but if I start to look flat or dull, I know it's time to bring out my special products. Basically anything made for dry, dull or lack lustre skin. Of course you don't have to use all of these products at one time to look fresh and healthy but incorporating some of them into your routine will give you a more luminous and well rested appearance. Who doesn't want that?
Prep
To get my skin looking and feeling it's best, I always start with my skincare. I love using oil based cleansers as they clean the skin well without stripping the moisture barrier. I usually reach for the Super Facialist Vitamin C Skin Renew Cleansing Oil which emulsifies to a milk with water or the Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm which is a bit richer but still purifying. I always like to use a toner after cleansing and I find that mixing the Pixi Glow Mist and Hydrating Milky Mist together gives me an extra layer of oily goodness. To finish off my skincare I'll use a simple, hydrating moisturiser but if I'm looking particularly grey I'll use my Olay Everyday Sunshine Tinted Moisturising Cream which adds some colour to the face. Lip balm is also essential!

Makeup
Depending on what Im doing and what coverage I need I’ll either use a tinted moisturiser or a medium-full coverage foundation. Bare Minerals, La Roche Posay and L'Oreal make some of my favourites. Moving onto cheeks, I've found the Estee Lauder Summer Glow Multi Palette to be the perfect all in one product. It has a rosy pink blush, warm toned bronzer and a champagne highlighter. All of the shades have a subtle sheen which give that 'lit from within' look. If you don't have this palette you can find similar finishes and colours from Hourglass. For my eyes I like to keep it simple with tinted brow gel, mascara and a nude pencil on the waterline. When it comes to the lip you can do whatever you feel like on the day. Every now and then I'll go for something dark and matte but 99% of the time I'll be boring and use a tinted balm or gloss. Recently I've been loving the Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm in Natural Rose and NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Salsa. Both are nude pink shades that add colour to the face but still keep everything soft and put together.

So there's my line up for looking like an oil slick. I really hope you found it interesting and don't forget to let me know what products you use to glow!

Recently I posted an Instagram story of one of my favourite products, the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, as sadly it was all finished which made me slightly anxious as I didn't have a back-up. This of course meant a trip to Boots was necessary and before I knew it, the next day I was rummaging through her skincare like a kid in a candy store. Funnily enough I didn't actually pick up another C&P as some other things caught my eye and I just couldn't leave Boots without them. I know, so dramatic.
After having such a positive experience with her cleanser I thought I would try her toner and exfoliator, as these are some of my favourite skincare products to use. I've been testing them ever since and I absolutely love them! They've been working so well for my skin and have definitely improved some of the issues I was having like congestion, dryness and dullness. If you're curious about Liz Earle skincare but haven't tried any of her products, this post may be interesting to you!
Gentle Face Exfoliator - 70ml - £15.75
I'm a firm believer that regular exfoliation helps to make the most out of the skin but usually I stick to chemical exfoliants (AHAs, BHAs etc) as most physical exfoliators are too harsh for my skin. This one however is gentle enough for me to use 2-4 times a week. It has the same texture and scent as the C&P but with added jojoba beads which help to remove dead skin, slough off dry patches and clear blocked pores. I suffer a lot with uneven texture so this is perfect for keeping everything smooth and even. It contains Cocoa Butter, Beeswax and Sweet Almond Oil to nourish and soften the skin whilst Eucalyptus Oil purifies.
Physical exfoliators shouldn't be used too often hence the 70ml size. I would say 2-3 times a week is enough to see a difference in the skin. I think this is perfect for all skin types except sensitive as the beads despite being small, may still irritate any sensitivities. I'm totally obsessed with this product which means a back-up is needed asap!

Instant Boost Skin Tonic Spritzer - 200ml - £14.75
I adore facial sprays. They're such a great way to help bring moisture and hydration back to the skin. This one helps to nourish and soothe my skin after cleansing with ingredients like Aloe Vera, Calendula, Cucumber, Rose, Geranium and Vitamin E. All skin types should get along with this product. The scent is so calming and gentle, I can't get enough of it. I love using it both AM and PM and also throughout the day when my skin needs a pick me up. It has a lovely fine mist that covers the face evenly. The 200ml size means it will last a really long time as a little goes a long way. It also comes in a slim bottle with a twist up dispenser which is great for using with a cotton pad. There's not much else to say about this other than it's totally gorgeous and a great option if you're looking for a new toner.

The cold UK weather finally caught up with my skin last month, giving me dry and dehydrated skin. Don't you just love when that happens?
To combat these issues I've been drinking more water and have started using facial oils daily. When I looked in my collection to see which oil would be good for replenishing the moisture loss, I saw this one from Pai Skincare and knew it was the one for the job. It has a lot more oomph compared to some of my other oils and it also helps with other concerns like pigmentation and dullness. I hope you enjoy the review guys!
The oil comes in a frosted glass jar with a pipette dispenser. Not the best for travel.
Price - £22 for 30ml
Texture - Thin oil
Finish - Glowing, hydrated skin

What they say
Pai Skin Care Rosehip BioRegenerate Fruit & Seed Oil Blend is a unique formula which works to help reduce the appearance of scars, stretch marks, fine lines and UV damage in all skin types.

Key claims
Reduces appearance of marks and scars
Conditions skin
Improves texture and firmness
Rich in Essential Fatty Acids
Contains Omegas 3,6,7 & 9

Ingredients
Rosehip Seed Oil
Rosehip Fruit Extract
Natural Vitamin E - (from sunflower)
Rosemary Extract

What is it
This is a beautiful facial oil that brings moisture, radiance and glow back to the skin whilst being light and easily absorbed at the same time. It doesn't feel heavy or clogging which is amazing as some Rosehip Oils can feel thick/gloopy. It definitely smells like Rosehip so bear that in mind if you're not a fan of this smell. Suitable for all skin types.
How I use it
After applying my serum I take 1-2 drops and massage it into the skin covering my face, neck and décolleté. It's great because you can mix it with your moisturiser, apply it before for an extra layer or use it on its own. I use it both AM and PM. It always adds brightness to the face as well as a nice blanket of protection. I've also noticed my complexion looks more even and pigmentation has been reduced when I use this. Makeup also lays beautifully on top of it. This is a great oil for all skin types, even oily-combination as you can use it sparingly.

Pros
- A little goes a long way
- Natural ingredients
- Vegan
- Great for all skin types
- Good thin texture
- Absorbs easily
- Targets multiple skin issues

Cons
- Bottle not great for travel
- Strong Rosehip smell (may be an issue for some)

Summary
I absolutely adore this oil and I love that it's going to last me a long time. If you've been suffering with any of the mentioned skin concerns you should definitely check out this product. It's a bit of a miracle worker for my skin. I can't recommend it enough!

I think it's safe to assume that 99% of us have at least one sheet mask somewhere in our stash. When the craze first kicked off several months back, I wasn't all for the hype, but after trying the Garnier Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask, I was instantly converted.
Not too long ago I saw multiple Instagram posts and stories featuring the new Sheet Masks from Boots and I knew I had to get a piece of the action...So I bought 3!
Even though I've only tried one, I was very pleased with the results and I wanted to give you guys a sort of 'mini review' as I think a lot of people will appreciate their price, quality and technology.
I look really weird without a top lip! ðŸ˜‚

Price - £2.50
Texture - Wet/saturated sheet mask
Finish - Mixed
Amount - 20ml

Lotus Flower & Tiger Lily - Radiance & Brightening
I've already given this one a go and I have to say, I loved how it made my skin look and feel. It contains ingredients like Glycerin to moisturise, Grapefruit Extracts to brighten and Tiger Lily to firm. The sheet is very easy to apply and I love how saturated it was. It has a gorgeous floral scent which I found to be really relaxing but not 'heady' in any way. I left mine on for about 15-20 minutes which is the recommended time. Once the time was up I removed the mask and patted the excess serum into my skin and followed with a basic moisturiser. My skin looked so healthy and plump as if I had a good eight hours sleep, which is always a good thing. I was extremely happy with the results and I will definitely keep a stock of these masks for days when my skin is looking dull and lifeless.

Charcoal & Willow Bark - Cleansing & Purifying
I've never tried a cleansing sheet mask but I love the concept of them. This hybrid mask is designed to purify the skin with Charcoal Powder and Willow Bark Extract whilst Orange Peel Oil works to soothe inflammation. I will apply this in the same way as the first mask and see how it goes. I definitely have high hopes for this one!

Super Hyaluronic - Moisturising & Nourishing
Lastly I picked up the Hyaluronic mask which I have even higher hopes for! This mask is packed with humectants (moisture binders) and oil extracts to nourish, smooth and soften the skin.
I'm a big Hyaluronic Acid fan and I really hope this works as it would be a great affordable alternative to the Indeed Laboratories Hydraluron Sheet Masks which are brilliant but almost 10x the price!

What do you think of the range?

Make sure you follow me on Instagram to hear my thoughts on the other two masks as I'll be trying them out in the week.

Boots Ingredients Sheet Face Mask - First Impressions
