Being part of the fair skinned crowd makes it very hard to add colour to the face without looking muddy, orange or just down right silly. I heard about a cream that contained a subtle hint of sunless tanner which made the face look healthy and perky... so of course I went out and bough it. After giving it a whirl for a few weeks, I can safely say I'm obsessed with this bad boy and to top it off, it's under £10! Today I'm bringing you a full review on the Everyday Sunshine Moisturiser from Olay, I hope you enjoy.
The moisturiser comes in a pretty pearlised bottle with a flip cap. It's slim and great for travel.
Shade - Light
Price - £9.99 (currently on offer in Superdrug - £4.95) for 50ml
Texture - Cream
Finish - Glowing, healthy, soft skin

What they say
Do more than moisturise! Hydrate, nourish & protect with Olay Complete for beautiful healthy looking skin day by day.

Key ingredients
Vitamin E - Nourishing and softening
Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide) - Protects skin against pollutants

What is it
This a moisturiser, tanner and SPF all in one. It offers hydration and moisture to the skin whilst protecting from both UVA and UVB rays. The hint of sunless tanner helps give the complexion a gorgeous glow without looking like you've tanned. It has a nice 'skincare' scent. Suitable for most skin types (it does contain fragrance).

How I use it
After my serum I take a 20p size blob and apply like any other moisturiser, just making sure to avoid direct contact with the hairline and brows. I wash my hands after applying it. Within half an hour my face has more glow and radiance. You can keep applying through the day if you're not wearing makeup but one application is enough for me. I do need to point out that it's very subtle and by no means a 'tan'. It also looks gorgeous if you bring it down the neck and onto the d├ęcolletage.

Pros
- Affordable
- Non greasy
- Subtle hint of colour
- SPF protection
- Light and Deep shade available
- Quick results
- No streaks

Cons
- Sensitive skins might not appreciate fragrance

Summary
With the sun coming out and the heat fast approaching this is the perfect daily moisturiser for me and I think a lot of you lovelies would like it too so I highly recommend giving it a go.

Thank you for reading!

This is quite different to my usual blog posts but I thought it would  fun and interesting to compare two very similar products. Good brow pencils are quite hard to come by and nothing beats my beloved brow wiz, however I picked up the ever so popular archery pencil by S&G and I have to say, it's not too dissimilar. I'll be comparing price, texture, colour and results. I hope you enjoy.

Left Swatch - ABH Brow Wiz - Medium Brown
Right Swatch - S&G Archery - Brownie Points

Price and Quantity
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz - £15.50 for 0.085g
Soap and Glory Archery 2 in 1 Brow Filling Pencil & Brush - £8 for 0.085g
With both pencils containing the same amount of product, obviously Soap and Glory is the better option if on a budget.

Packaging
The pencils come in almost identical packaging, apart from the coloured font. Both are travel friendly. The nibs are very fine on both pencils, so there's no real difference in the look of the product.

Texture
Brow Wiz has a firm but gentle application where Archery is slightly harder/drier in application.

Colour and Pigmentation
Both shades are a medium brown but Archery is slightly warmer with a more red undertone, which is more noticeable on the brows. The brow wiz is the perfect match for my dark neutral brows. Using the brow wiz pencil my brows are done in seconds but it can take longer with the Archery pencil because it's much lighter in pigmentation.

Lasting Power
They both last all day on me and neither rub off.

Summary
Have we found a dupe? Yes! Apart from being slightly warmer in tone, the Soap and Glory Archery Brow Pencil is a fantastic budget option for those who don't want to spend £15 on the brow wiz. I'll definitely be re-purchasing both of them.

Which do you prefer out of the two?

Thank you for reading.

We've all had those nights where we just can't be bothered to do our full skincare routine. Wether it's from being out all day, not feeling well or just sheer laziness, no one's innocent. That doesn't mean it's impossible to take care of your skin without going to the sink. These are my go to steps and products for when I'm travelling or being super lazy at home. I hope you enjoy.

Cleansing
The safest option for cleanser is a micellar water. I admit I wasn't a fan of them for a long time, but I've found one that works wonderfully at removing my makeup and gently cleansing the skin.  The Simple Kind To Skin Micellar Water is incredible, it's cheap, easily available and suitable for all skin types. Pour some onto a cotton pad and gently remove the first layer of makeup, then repeat again with a fresh cotton pad. Remember to pay special attention to the hairline, jaw and neck. There's also makeup removing pads which work nicely. (Wipes are too harsh)

Acid/Toner
I personally always like to use an acid toner as well as a hydrating one to really smooth the surface of the skin. My favourite acid when in a rush is the Clearasil 5 in 1 Cleansing Pads. They have a slightly rough texture which really buffs and exfoliates any bumpiness. I then spray a hydrating mist over top and depending on my mood, I'll use something like the Caudalie Beauty Elixir for relaxation or La Roche Posay Serozinc for soothing. Both are available in travel sizes.

Serum
This stage is all about personal needs and using something targeted for your skin concern/s. I tend to switch between hydrating and exfoliating serums. To resurface the skin, I like using the Pixi Skintreats Overnight Glow Serum and when my skin is craving moisture I use The Body Shop Vitamin E Serum In Oil

Moisturiser
When it comes to moisturiser, you can use whatever suits your skin but I tend to amp it up and use an overnight mask. There are great ones by Superdrug, Pixi and Origins. They tend to be thicker than a moisturiser but not oily so they leave a film on the skin which really gives you a glow the next morning.

Are you guilty of the lazy skincare routine? Let me know your favourite products for correcting your skincare sins!

Sometimes caking our faces with makeup doesn't give us the effect we want. Bumpy patches, texture, and that typical thick appearance makes our skin look horrible and defeats the purpose of applying the products in the first place. I'm quite good at creating a 'simple, natural, dewy' makeup and I think it's a saviour when you need to look fresh and more put together. So these are my tips to looking fresh faced and naturally polished.

Base
The first step is to create a very natural yet flawless base and the way to do this, is by using something like a bb/cc cream for evening the skin tone, and then only applying concealer on blemishes. My absolute favourite is the Sleek Makeup BB Cream, it's glowy, light to medium coverage, easy to apply and looks so natural on the skin. The key to making the face look well slept and fresh is blusher, it can be pink or peach, powder or cream, the main thing is to not skimp on how much you apply. A good pop of colour on the cheeks is the secret to looking youthful in the face. I've been loving the Clinique Cheek Pop in Melon Pop as my blush recently, it's the perfect peachy coral with some sheen. I have to have some extra glow going on, so I always apply a cream highlighter to my cheekbones, nose, and cupids bow.  The product I always reach for to do this is the MAC Cream Colour Base in Pearl. It's the perfect shade for fair/light skin with it's white-gold tone but don't worry, there's a shade for everybody in this product which is great! My final step is to very carefully apply some powder. Try to use something quite finely milled and only use it where you really need it. I use the Soap and Glory One Heck Of A Blot Powder under my eyes, on concealed areas and lightly down the nose.

Eyes
I like to keep the eyes really minimal for this look because I just love focusing on the skin. For eyeshadow, I tend to apply some kind of cream, wether it's a paint pot with a bit of sheen, or a shadow crayon, I tend to stick to neutrals because they work better with the natural colours of the face. I love Maybelline's Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze for something a bit noticeable and when I want something very close to my skin tone I like using the Rosie for Autograph Cream Eyeshadow in Almond Eyes. I skip liner and go straight to mascara, and lots of it! It really opens up the eyes and helps you look more awake. My all time favourite mascara that gives me length, definition and volume has to be the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. For brows I simply use some Tinted Brow Mascara in Brunette from NYX to add some colour and shape to them.

Lips
When it comes to lips, you can do whatever you please but if you really want to keep that natural theme, a touch of gloss or even a sheer lipstick will be the cherry on top. Again, pinks and peach tones are the most universal and I tend to for something like Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors for the perfect mix of colour, moisture and sheen.

What are your tips and tricks to looking perfectly un-done?

Thank you so much for reading!

For a while I was wondering why my skin wasn't looking as plump and radiant as normal, and then I realised it was because I hadn't used a facial oil for weeks! I was so caught up in using creams and overnight masks which do work nicely, but nothing beats good old grease. This oil from Boots is my current obsession, if you need hydration, moisture and glow, then read on. I hope you enjoy.

The oil comes in frosted glass bottle with a pipette. Nice simple packaging and good size for travel.
Price - £9.99 for 25ml
Texture - Thin oil
Finish - Soft, radiant, glowing skin

What they say
This aromatic oil melts into lacklustre skin to lock in moisture for 8 hours while softening, conditioning and helping to restore its natural glow.

Key ingredients
Sweet Almond Oil - Moisturising and rich in essential fattys acids
Rosehip - Antioxidansts fight against free radicals
Lemon Peel Oil - Brightens skin

What is it
This is a thin but very moisturising facial oil that leaves the skin nourished, hydrated and perky. The texture absorbs beautifully but still leaves a barrier of moisture on the skin. It has a gorgeous rosehip scent. This oil also works great for facial massage. Suitable for all skin types.

How I use it
I massage 2-3 drops into the skin whilst really taking time to drain down the neck, jaw and forehead. You can apply this AM or PM, I love it for both. The scent is very relaxing and it makes using the oil a lovely experience. It works nicely under makeup if you wait 10 minutes before applying. A little goes a long way with this oil so combination/oily skins should be careful with their dispensing. This makes my skin feel super soft and plump and it really makes a difference when your skin is dull and lifeless.

Pros
- Affordable
- Good value for money
- Nice scent
- 100% organic
- Works straight away
- Gives glow and moisture
- Convenient packaging

Cons
- None!

Summary
My skin has gone back to it's healthy, glowy self after using oil again and I thank this product for that. If you've been neglecting your skin and you need a 'pick me up' this will be your new bff.

The Body Shop have upped their game recently and it's really starting to show in their latest releases. I made a trip to the Bromley store to have a mooch and to see if the new products were worth being purchased. Obviously, I have no will power, so I picked up 3 new bits. I haven't tested them all yet, so today's post is more of a first impressions rather than a review, I hope you enjoy!

Pinita Colada Shower Gel - £5 - 250ml
I managed to get this for free by using one of my £5 vouchers that I collected with my TBS membership card, (which I highly recommend getting by the way).
This is their Summer scent for 2016 and I am head over heels for it. This scent takes me back to Turkey, sipping cocktails on the beach. It's fruity, a bit zesty and insanely delicious. If you like anything pineapple or coconut, you will probably die when you smell this. The texture looks nice and creamy too, so I'm sure this will be used up quickly... I think I need to get some back-ups.

Instaglow CC Cream - Peachy Glow - £14 - 25ml
I have very big hopes for this product. It comes in two other shades, bright glow for fair skin and warm glow for deeper skin. I'm very pleased to see that they catered for all skin tones. I went for the peachy glow because it sounded the most fitting for my needs. It claims to correct skin tone, illuminate, moisturise and minimise the appearance of pores. It comes out a peachy coloured cream that blends nicely and leaves a subtle sheen to the skin. I will give it some thorough testing and let you know how I get on. If you'd like a full review, let me know!

Skin Defence Multi Protection Essence SPF 50 - £16 - 40ml
I tend to get my SPF from my moisturisers or makeup, so when I saw they had made a separate SPF, I got very excited. This has a beautiful thin, light, moisturiser like consistency which absorbs quickly. It smells really nice and fresh and doubles as a moisturiser. I have used this under makeup and alone and it works perfectly for both. Alcohol denat is very prominent in this cream, personally I don't mind it, but I know some of you will. If you've been looking for a sun cream for your face that doesn't feel heavy or greasy, check this one out!
Always remember to double cleanse when using SPF!

I'm very quickly becoming an Estee Lauder junkie, but hey, I'm not complaining. I started to see snippets of the limited edition Bronze Goddess collection on Instagram, and just fell in love. There's a fair few bits in this range, but the one product I knew I had to have was the face palette... It's just too beautiful

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the beauty of this palette. Like, oh my God!
The powders come in a gold, sleek rectangle case which just screams luxury. The outer packaging is a gorgeous blurred animal print box.
Ok for travel.
Price - £40 for 11.5g

What they say
Illuminate. Contour. Blush. Radiant, sun-kissed color for face, cheeks and eyes. Use each shade on its own to sculpt and define, or blend shades together for a natural-looking, all-over glow. Let the sun worship you.

Contents
Highlighter
Blush
Bronzer/Contour

What is it
This is a beautiful palette containing everything you need to add luminosity, colour and dimension to your face. You get a decent amount of each product. This is perfect for short get aways or long holidays where you don't want to wear a tonne of makeup, but you still want to enhance your Summer glow. Suitable for all skin types.

Highlighter
Creamy texture
Strong pigment
Beige with pink/peachy undertones
Finely milled shimmer
Great for fair/light medium skin tones.

Blush
Medium rosy pink with peachy undertones
Creamy Texture
Strong pigment
Satin finish
Great for fair/light/medium skin tones

Bronzer/Contour
Medium warm bronze with orange undertones
Creamy Texture
Strong pigment
Satin finish
This will work best as a bronzer/eyeshadow on fair/light skin rather than a contour shade

I'm very impressed with the quality of the powders, they all swatch and apply to the skin smoothly with no fall out. If you're looking for matte products then this isn't the palette for you as all of these powders leave a gorgeous sheen to the skin. The pigmentation is beautiful and intense which makes it easy to dial up or tone down your look.

Pros
- Smooth formula
Good colour pay off
- Beautiful packaging
- Convenient for travel
- Decently priced
- High quality

Cons
- Estee Lauder definitely need to make a darker version of this palette for deeper skin tones!

Summary
While they're available, I would highly recommend picking up this palette before the end of Summer. If you missed out on the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit like I did, maybe this can be your alternative? Either way, it'd be a crime not to buy this palette! Thank you so much for reading.

We all have those days where our face feels rough and bumpy, and looks grey and lifeless. Makeup is great for adding colour back into the face, but it won't help the texture and overall appearance of the skin. Exfoliation is your best friend for treating these issues and I have found some amazing products that will help get your skin looking radiant, fresh and glowing.

My favourites are -

Superdrug Naturally Radiant Glycolic Overnight Peel - £5.99
Amount - 30ml
Texture - Gel
Acid Percentage - 1.4%

Nip and Fab Glycolic Fix Serum - £14.95
Amount - 30ml
Texture - Gel
Acid Percentage - 4%

Pixi Skintreats Overnight Glow Serum - £26
Amount - 30ml
Texture - Gel
Acid Percentage - 10%

These three serums are designed to resurface, refine and smooth the skin overnight. They all have a similar thick gel consistency which you apply after your toner and before your moisturiser.
Funnily enough, they are all glycolic acid based, which is an Alpha Hydroxy Acid. AHA's are also called chemical exfoliants and they work by breaking down the bonds holding dead skin cells together, helping to unclog pores, fade pigmentation and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. The next morning you will see and feel a noticeable difference in your skin, especially after you cleanse. As well as smoothing the surface of the skin, they also bring back glow to the face, getting rid of that horrible grey cast we sometimes get.

When using in the day time - apply SPF after/instead of moisturiser
When using at night time - apply SPF next morning

The great thing about the ones I have shown is that there's one to suit everyone. If you're new to using acids, the superdrug one is great because its cheap but very effective. If you use acid toners but need something with a bit more oomph, then the Nip and Fab is perfect and for those who want optimum exfoliation, Pixi OGS will transform the look of your skin.

Thank you so much for reading!

I love pampering myself weekly with face masks. I'll use them in the evening when I want to relax or sometimes before I apply makeup to make sure my skin is perfectly prepped. Most of you will know that I'm a huge ViviannaDoesMakas fan and am always willing to give her recommendations a go. I saw her rave about the Pumpkin Enzyme mask from PTR and knew I had to try it asap. A few months back I was shopping online at Beauty Bay and saw this amazing set of face masks which had my name all over it! I've tested them out and today I'm sharing with you my opinions on all five masks. Grab a drink and get comfy... this might take a while.

Price - £49.95 for 5x50ml
Texture - Mixed cream/gel/mud
Finish - Clear, fresh skin
Packaging - Plastic pots

The value of this set is great because you are basically getting five - 50ml masks for around £9 each! I believe it was first a Sephora exclusive but you can still get on the Beauty Bay site. This is the best way to try a mixture of products from a new brand without spending a fortune. If you've been interested in trying Peter Thomas Roth make I would definitely look into this collection.

Cucumber Gel Mask

Texture - Thick gel
Finish - Refreshed, soothed skin

What they say
An ultra-gel, non-stinging, anti-irritant gel masque for all skin types including even the most sensitive skin.

Key ingredients
Cucumber Extract - Soothing and hydrating
Papaya Fruit Extract - Rich in antioxidants
Whole Leaf Aloe Vera - Packed with vitamins and minerals

What is it
This is a soothing gel mask that instantly refreshes and calms the skin. The texture speeds evenly around the face and is easy to remove. It has a soft texture which stays wet on the skin. It mostly smells of cucumber which I personally love. Suitable for all skin types.

How I use it
I apply a thick layer to the skin after cleansing. It looks bright in the pot but it's almost clear on the face. I leave it on for roughly 15-20 minutes and then remove with a hot flannel. It leaves the skin feeling soft, moisturised and calm. It also refreshed and purifies, leaving my skin looking nice and clear.

Would I purchase a full size?
No. This mask is nice but not worth spending £29.95 for a big pot. I do like the gentle, soothing properties of this mask but I think there are better, cheaper alternatives. For summer this will be the perfect fix on those days you're feeling a a bit greasy.

24K Gold Mask

Texture - Soft, cream/gel
Finish - Glowing, soft skin

What they say
An indulgent anti-ageing treatment. Imparting an opulent glow to the skin, this luxurious mask is infused with pure 24K Gold which locks in moisture and keeps the skin firm by maintaining collagen within the skin cells and inhibiting the breakdown of elastin.

Key ingredients
Caffeine - Helps tighten and firm
24K Gold - Lifts and adds glow
Hyaluronic Acid - Helps to bind hydration to skin
Glycerin - Moisturising

What is it
This a rich cream mask that gives glow, moisture and fullness. The smooth texture spreads nicely across the skin. It does not dry. The scent is very soft and pleasant. Suitable for all skin types.

How I use it
If my skin is looking a bit dull or I want extra glow, I'll apply a thick layer of this to the face. It's a nice, gentle mask and I leave it on for 15-20 minutes and remove with a hot flannel. My skin really does look radiant and glowing after using this mask. I can't say too much about the anti-ageing claims as I'm a bit younger than the target user of the mask and I don't have mature skin.

Would I purchase a full size?
Possibly when I'm older. I will definitely use this up but it's not necessary for me to buy a huge pot as I can get my glow from other skincare and makeup. Maybe when I'm in my 20s/30s and I want an indulgent, glow boosting, firming product, I will pick up a big pot. For those mature ladies/gents out there looking for a quick and easy way to get their lustre back, this might be the one for you.

Irish Moor Mud

Texture - Thick mud
Finish - Purified, clear skin

What they say
A traditional inspired decongesting and hydrating mask.

Key ingredients
Volcanic Ash and Charcoal - Detoxify and draw out impurities
Black Hijiki Seaweed - High levels of calcium, vitamins and minerals
Glycerin - Moisturising
Lactic Acid - Gently exfoliates

What is it
This is a mud mask that decongests the skin which helps to remove  dirt, oil and impurities. The mask is quite thick but it's very easy to apply. This is a very thick, opaque mask, so it's not one to apply on a plane. The mask has no scent which is great. I find this to be on the stronger side so it's probably not suitable for everyone. This mask will best suit - normal, combination, oily and congested skin. Sensitive skins should be wary.

How I use it
I spread a thick layer on the skin carefully avoiding the eye area. 10 minutes is all you need with mask to get clearer skin. It doesn't dry like a lot of mud/clay masks so you might not think it's working, but trust me it is. I take it off with a hot flannel and although it's easy to remove, it will stain your flannel/washcloth, so don't use one you mind getting grubby.

Would I purchase a full size?
Maybe. This one will last me a very long time as a little goes a long way but I still have other mud masks which work great. Once I've used up this one and some of my others, I might get another pot of this to have in the stash. If you've been having issues with blemishes, blackheads and clogged pores you might want to give this a try.

Rose Stem Cell

Texture - Jelly like
Finish - Hydrated, soft, smooth skin

What is it
A cooling facial mask which rejuvenates mature, sensitive and lacklustre complexions. Utilising Plant Biotechnology which isolates and replicates the perfect Rose Stem Cells for maximum skin repair, Rose Stem Cell Bio Repair Gel Mask is enriched with five Rose Stem Cells - Rose Commiphora, Desert Rose, Damas Rose, Pale Rose and White Rose which are blended with four Rose Extracts - Rosa Damascena, Rosa Canina, Rose Hip Seed and Rose Water to help target the signs of ageing.

Key ingredients
Rose Hip Seed - Rich in Vitamin A & C
Rose Water - Soothing and nourishing

What is it
This is a hydrating shot of moisture for the skin. It leaves my face looking and feeling fresh, moisturised and well rested. It's a soft jelly texture which is easy to use. Of course it has a beautiful rose scent which I love but some of you may not. This is suitable for all skin types.

How I use it
To get some extra hydration after cleansing I apply this mask to the face and leave it on for about 15 minutes. Again, I take it off with a flannel and pat the face dry with a soft towel. This is the most nourishing out of the set. My skin feels a lot smoother and moisturised after using this which is a great base for toners/serums etc.

Would I purchase a full size?
Most likely. I don't have many hydrating masks so this was a great addition to my skincare collection. When this runs out I will probably buy a new pot unless I have something even better open at the time. If you've been looking for something to make your skin juicy and plump, you might like this.

Pumpkin Enzyme Mask

Texture - Grainy paste
Finish - Exfoliated, glowing skin

What they say
A highly effective exfoliating treatment.

Key ingredients
Natural Pumpkin Enzymes - Gently eat away at dead skin
Alpha Hydroxy Acids - Exfoliates and reveals fresh, new skin
Aluminium Oxide - Polishes

What is it
This is a resurfacing treatment that quickly removes the dead skin giving you a bright, radiant and revitalised complexion. With both physical and chemical exfoliants, this is the perfect product if your skin is clogged, dull and rough. It smells like a gorgeous pumpkin spiced latte, which makes it a dream to use. The texture is quite thin but it's very easy to build a good layer on the face. As soon as I apply it, I can feel it working and it can sting because of the acids. This mask is strong, even for me, so it won't work for all skin types. Normal, oily, combination and mature could use this but sensitive skins will not like this at all.

How I use it
I apply a thin layer to my face and neck after cleansing. After 10 minutes, I gently rinse it off with warm water and pat my skin dry. Using a flannel can be too much exfoliation. It's like I have brand new skin after using this. There's no roughness, my pores look refined and I'm even a bit glowy. I always apply SPF the next morning before I go out, this id definitely one to use at night.

Would I purchase a full size?
Yes. This is the most unique face mask I own and definitely the best in terms of fast results. Most of you will know I love using acids and exfoliating so to have it in a face mask is like heaven. I can only use this once or twice a week but the effects last a long time. This also helps serums and moisturisers work better because they can penetrate deeper. I will definitely purchase a big pot when this runs out but that won't be for a while. If you're looking for something to polish, exfoliate and smooth your skin, you need to try this pot of heaven, as long as you aren't sensitive!

Let me know if you like PTR masks or if you're interested in trying them. Are there any face masks you think I should try from another brand?

Thanks so much for reading!
